Ports of third-party AAA games on the Switch were initially a huge part of the system’s draw as the idea of being able to play these games portably was a dream for many. Publishers and developers evidently still see value in making their games available on Switch, even older titles. Some recent examples of this includeDoom Eternal,Dying Light,Nier: Automata,No Man’s Sky, and Microsoft has even outlinedplans to bringCall of Dutyto Switchfollowing its proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard. While many of these games do not perform as well on Switch, the platform’s portability and lower price point make them well worth owning on the platform, especially when on discount.
