Warning: This will delve into spoilers for season 1 ofOnly Murders in the BuildingWith only two weeks until the second season ofOnly Murders in the Buildingsis released onHulu, the streaming service gave fans a bit of a sneak peek of what this upcoming season will be about in its most recent trailer. Even though the trailer doesn’t give much away about what’s next for the trio behind everyone’s favorite fake True-Crime podcast, it shows just enough to excite fans even more for what’s to come.
Hulu’sOnly Murders in the Buildingseason 2 picks up right where season 1 left off, with our main characters Charles-Haden Savage, Mabel Mora, and Oliver Putnam trying to clear their names after being framed for murdering their apartments board president, Bunny. After working together to figure out who murdered Tim Konos last season, the gang put their heads together again to attempt to solve who murdered Bunny as well as who tried to frame them.

The newOnly Murders in the Buildingseason 2 trailer shows our main characters investigating the mystery at hand but only in split-second clips all while, much like the first season, talking about the mystery in their podcast. The trailer also features characters who made an appearance in season 1, including Detective Williams, Teddy Dimas, Cinda Canning, and, surprisingly, the murderer from season 1, Jan. Along with this, the trailer also shows brief shots of some of the new characters who will be introduced in season 2 played by well-known actors, like Cara Delevingne, Shirley MacLaine, and Amy Schumer.
The trailer continues many of the same beats from season 1, which primarily involves the character dynamics between Mabel, Charles, and Oliver. Those dynamics, seeing older and younger people interact with one another, of course, was what made the show so appealing to begin with. It also continues what season 1 had been implying, which was that there was something bigger going on in the Arconia building than the murder of Tim Konos, as the murderer, in this case, appears to be one step ahead of our heroes at every turn.
What’s best about this trailer is that it tells the audience very little about what’s going to happen in the show’s second season yet shows just enough to convince them to tune in to see what happens next. More studios need to take note of this when they’re making trailers for their popular properties (looking at you, Sony). Shows likeOnly Murders in the Building,Better Call Saul, andThe Boyshave released trailers for their latest seasons that excite the viewers without giving away too much information on what will happen. Doing this makes it so that viewers can theorize what will happen without getting the full scope ahead of time.
Needless to say,Only Murders in the Buildingseason 2has big shoes to fill. While the show’s appeal stemmed from crossing over different generations with one another, season 1 created a truly compelling mystery that kept viewers guessing until the very end. Season 2 appears to be promising another mystery on a much larger scale. What adds to the anticipation is that they’ve been building this up since the show began. Since they’re promising an even more meaningful mystery this go-round, they better pray it sticks the landing.
Only Murders in the Buildingseason 2 premieres on July 12, 2025, on Hulu.
