Fans finally have their first look at Netflix’sOne Piece Live Actionseries and it is safe to say that it has lived up to the expectations so far. Fans went into this carefully optimistic, knowing that anime and manga usually don’t translate well into live-action series.

Thankfully,One PieceLive Actionappears to be better than what fans are used to and, while it isn’t perfect in every way, judging by the trailer,it still holds up quite well. There are a lot of things to like about the series already and, one of them is the fact that the showrunners have snuck in several interesting details that only die-hard fans ofOne Piecewould have noticed.
6Mr. 7
Mr. 7 is a character that fans never got to see in theOne Pieceanime or the manga. While there is a Mr. 7 in Baroque Works that shows up later, he is actually a replacement for the original Mr. 7, who was killed by Zoro at one point in the past. Although this is brought up in the story, it is never seen. In Netflix’sOne Piece Live Actionseries, the shown to the fans.
In theOne Piece Live Action, Mr. 7 is actually a cast member andhe ends up fighting Zorobefore he joins up with the Straw Hat Pirates. Fans can actually see Zoro fight against him in the teaser trailer in what appears to be high-octane combat. It is small touches like these that only a few fans noticed that make this live-action special.
5Miss Love Duck
Miss Love Duck is the ship of Alvida, who is one of the very first antagonists in One Piece. In fact, Alvida is the very first enemy of Luffy in the original manga after Luffy sets out on his journey. While fans only get a brief look at Alvida in the live-action teaser trailer, Miss Love Duck is actually seen very well.
Fans can also see pirates under Alvida jumping from their ship to a nearby one to loot it. Much to the surprise of the fans, Miss Love Duck appears to be the exact same as it is in the manga and the anime. The dedication to craft something so perfectly just goes to show that Netflix’sOne Piece Live Actionis doing all it can to make this adaptation successful and loved among the fans.
4Garp’s Battleship
Garp is yet another character who is going to make his appearance in season 1 of Netflix’sOne Piece Live Actionadaptation. While fans did not get to see Garp in the trailer, his battleship certainly did show up. Garp has an iconic battleship that has been seen on several occasions in the manga and the anime.

In theOne Piece Live Actionseries, this battleship appears to be quite different. It is much bigger than the average Navy battleship that fans are used to seeing in the manga and the anime. It also looks much tougher and generally more intimidating, which is fitting for a character such as Garp himself.
3Crescent Moon Galley
Crescent Moon Galley is a pirate who appears in theOne Pieceprototype,Romance Dawn, and, also in the anime during the Loguetown arc, and a filler arc later on. Very few fans know of him because he is a character who, in the grand scheme of things, doesn’t matter at all. Even in the arc that he appears in, Galley is a rather weak pirate who is easily disposed of by Luffy.
In theOne Piece Live Actionadaptation, Galley can be seen in Baratie, moments before Sanji appears on the screen. What exactly Galley’s role will be in Baratie remains to be seen, however, the fact that the showrunners are introducing these minor characters from the anime inthe live-action adaptation only enrichens the worldeven further.
2Fullbody
Fans also got a glimpse of Fullbody in Netflix’sOne Piece Live Actionadaptation. While his face wasn’t shown, he is easily recognizable by his clothes. As fans know already, Fullbody appears in the Baratie arc, when is on a date. This date goes awfully wrong for him and he gets beaten to a pulp by Sanji. In Netflix’sOne Piece Live Actionadaptation, Fullbody will most likely face a similar fate, however, he was seen interacting with Crescent Moon Galley in the teaser trailer.
Fullbody was pointing a gun at him and it is unknown what role exactly these two characters will play in the Baratie arc. Regardless, fans are excited to see them interact.
Quite easily the most incredible detail that only a few fans managed to catch in Netflix’sOne Piece Live Actionteaser is the fact that the showrunners seem to have integrated different outfits into the series. In the original story, the Straw Hat Pirates don’t change their attire often during the East Blue Saga.
However, in Netflix’sOne Piece Live Action, the crew can be seen wearing different clothes. These clothes aren’t random choices for the cast. Instead, they have been taken from the various color spreads that Oda has drawn, which makes it a very special touch and just goes to showhow carefully the people working on this series are trying to enhance the worldthat Oda built even further.
Netflix’s One Piece Live Actionseries is all set to be released on May 23, 2025.
