MultiVersushas grown a lot since the game’s closed alpha launched earlier in the year. Considering that not much was even known about the action platformer whenMultiVersusgameplay was first unveiled at the beginning of this year, to consider how the game has grown over the course of just six months is impressive. But, still in its open beta phase,MultiVersushas a lot of work to do with new features, characters, and more.

Now,MultiVersus’Game Director Tony Huynh is discussing the next big changes that will be coming to the game. Huynh is often active on social media, responding to fan questions and showing off the latest additions coming toMultiVersus, including things like its first proper battle pass. The latestupdate forMultiVersusis set for next week, and while some fans were hoping that the Store and Guild features would be coming in that patch, it seems they are still a short ways out.

Currently, when looking atMultiVersus’main menu, two options are grayed out. These options would take a player to the Store page for the game, where presumably a player would be able to purchase cosmetics for theircharacters inMultiVersuswith either Gleamium or in-game gold. The Guilds function is a little less self-explanatory, but in essence it would allowMultiVersusplayers to build their own groups, which many are predicting will result in greater in-game rewards. These options haven’t been scrapped, it’s important to note, but Huynh has stated over on Twitter that the team at Player First Games is focusing on core systems, stability, and bug fixes.

Still, Huynh promises that the patch next week will add “a lot of cool things,” even if it doesn’t bring the Store or Guild features. It seems that Player First Games is still very much focused on making the gameplay ofMultiVersusas enjoyable as possible before moving on to new features. Previously, the game has caught some criticism for certain characters feeling as though they were overpowered or had moves that would hit the opponent unfairly.Finn fromAdventure Timeand Bugs Bunnywere two characters who recently received nerfs after fan complaint.

Even without the Store and Guilds pages, there are plenty of things coming toMultiVersusfor fans to look forward to. Morty has just joined the game’s wacky roster, and soon even more additions will be coming in the form ofBlack Adam and Stripe fromGremlins. Next up to joinMultiVersus’vast cast of characters is Morty’s grandfather and genius scientist Rick, who is predicted to release in the coming weeks.
