TheMortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revengetrailer doesn’t show much in the way of actual violence, as it cuts away before any blood or guts can be spilled. However, we know that this newMortal Kombatanimated movie will be rated R, so fans can expect plenty of over-the-top action that’s true to the source material.

The trailer confirms a few details aboutMortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge, including the cast of characters that fans can expect to see in the movie. This includes the titular Scorpion, Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, Johnny Cage, Goro, Shang Tsung, and more. Iconic voice lines from the video games series, like Scorpion’s “GET OVER HERE!” will also be featured in the new animated movie, and fans can check it out for themselves in the new trailer.
TheMortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revengetrailer also reveals some details about the movie’s plot. It appears as though it will be largely inspired by the story in the firstMortal Kombatvideo game, with Shang Tsung organizing and hosting the Mortal Kombat tournament. Like in that original video game, the characters inMortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revengewill have to face off against Goro before fightingShang Tsunghimself, though it remains to be seen what other directions the plot will go.
We do know that the movie will feature a battle between Scorpion andSub-Zero, which should be one of the more crowd-pleasing moments. Scorpion and Sub-Zero have consistently been two of the most popular characters in theMortal Kombatfranchise, and seeing them go at it should provide for some great action.
Warner Bros. has put out high-quality animated movies on a regular basis, and so theMortal Kombatanimated movie is in good hands. At the very least, it should tide fans over before they can get their first look at theMortal Kombatlive-action moviethat’s coming out next year.
