A visual glitch has appeared inCall of Duty: Modern Warfarethat duplicates the riot shield. Although it doesn’t impact gameplay, the glitch presents a funny idea in the minds of manyModern Warfareplayers.
The clip quickly spread amongtheModern Warfarecommunity, with many fans taking advantage of the obvious meme that this weapon combo would make. Naturally, players only get to equip one primary weapon with overkill, allowing them to equip a different primary as a secondary gun. This means that in most games, players will not find duplicate equipment in players' loadouts.

Still, the short clip clearly shows a player with a riot shield up front and a riot shield on their back. Several facts become instantly clear to fans after witnessing the two-second clip. The back and front shields are scaled way differently, which gives the strange impression that the shield grows in size when put away, as opposed to being held in front of an operator. It’s also absurd to see such a strange operator escorted by one of the Hyenas. Although the two shields are obviously a graphical bug, it presents an interesting theory as to the chaos having tworiot shields could cause inModern Warfare.
Turtling is a common strategy for riot shield players. The general idea is for players to pin themselves in a corner covering their back while allowing the shield to cover their front. This makes it extremely hard to kill a riot shield user, as they can keep the shield angled in a way that prevents damage from going through.
With two riot shields, the player is defended from the back and front simultaneously. This means they are vulnerable to side attacks, but even that is a small window, as thetwo shields could cover vulnerable spots easily. If a player could run two riot shields at once, using Overkill or a similar perk, then they could easily become the ultimate turtle build.
The amount of imbalance that a build like this could inflict uponModern Warfare’smeta is extreme. Several tests prove that theriot shield is a formidable barrier inModern Warfare,with only certain equipment and weapons able to penetrate its defenses. To wield two of them would only go to double the power found of the defensive weapon.
