Summary

Minecrafthas released its latest update, Tricky Trials, on all platforms. With the new update,Minecraftplayers can experience plenty of new challenges in the title’s replayable trial chambers, which reward participants with valuable loot for defeating tough mobs. Tricky Trials officially went live on June 13 for the game’sMinecraft:Java EditionandBedrock Edition.

The last majorMinecraftupdate was Trails & Tales, released one year prior to Tricky Trials. Players can now encounter camels and sniffers, trim down armor, and encounter trail ruins. Cherry groves were also introduced, along with the ability to craft with bamboo, create mob sounds, and hang signs. Trail ruins serve as archeological sites that resemble ancient villages weathered by the elements andan archeology update is exactly what theMinecraftcommunity wants. Now, Tricky Trials hopes to expand upon the foundations of Trails & Tales to further expandMinecraft’s complex and immersive world.

Tricky Trials adds several new features toMinecraft, including decorative copper blocks, new mobs, new banner patterns, and even redstone-powered auto-crafting, as ifMinecraft’s redstone wasn’t useful enough already. Suitable for both solo and multiplayer modes, trial chambers were also released as part of the 1.20 update, which can be located using an explorer map purchasable from a Cartographer Villager. These areas present a slew of challenges, plenty of mobs to battle, and generous rewards for those reigning victorious. If players wander far enough, they’ll encounter trial spawners and get the chance to meet the breeze and the bogged, two new mobs that inhabit the trial chambers. For players who like a little more risk, find an ominous bottle and drink from it to inflict the Bad Omen effect, then run head-first into the nearest village or trial chamber to trigger an ominous raid/trial.

In addition, Mojang has begun a trial period forMinecrafton PlayStation 5 in the hopes of releasing a full version later this year. As of the latest update, the PS5 version ofMinecraftis still in an experimental phase to allow the team to continue making improvements and reflecting on community feedback.Minecrafthas also been optimized for Xbox Series X/S consoles, allowing it to currently run at 4K and 60FPS. Mojang seeks to offer a polished experience on consoles while opening doors for future game enhancements andto continue keepingMinecraftrelevant over a decade after its initial release.
