Amazon Games' highly anticipated flagship MMORPGNew Worldwas released on PC last September and initially saw a huge population of players eager to explore the island of Aeternum. Using a stamina-based combat system more closely resemblingDark SoulsthanWorld of Warcraftand boasting an engaging three-way faction war,New Worldwas seemingly bound to be the next big MMO in a genre bereft of promising new titles.New World’s population fell sharply after release, however, due to players' frustration with the lack of endgame content, bugs, and performance issues. In an effort to retain players and address the biggest issues,New Worldhas been releasing large monthly updates with new content and polished systems.
