Marvel Snapdeveloper Second Dinner pushed an over-the-air update to players this week that not only provided balance tweaks for some popular cards, but also marked the beginning of a new approach to balance issues in the game in general. As part of the patch notes the developer announced that it will be making weekly changes to card balance in the game in addition to the usual monthly balance tweaks. Balance tweaks have become a regular source of both excitement and frustration for players of the free-to-play title, with buffs andnerfs inMarvel Snapoften drawing passionate a passionate response from gamers who’ve seen changes made to their favorite cards.
Going into more detail about what Second Dinner describes as “just the sort of balance attention and prioritization” players have been asking for, the developer outlines how the new balance updates toMarvel Snapwill work. For the time being, weekly changes to cards will be numbers-only, with changes to card functionality and graphics arriving as part of larger patches as usual. The update also clarifies that players won’t have to worry about sweeping changes coming to the game each week, with Second Diner stating that “our target is 2 to 4 cards each week” with more changes possible on patch weeks.
While it’s inevitable that someMarvel Snapplayers will be displeased to find that their favorite card has been modified as part of the new weekly balance tweaks, being able to regularly fine-tune the free-to-play title should help Second Dinner ensure that no one card or deck comes to dominate the meta. Also, by ensuring the gamers have a level playing field no matter their build, it might make the prospect of reachingmax Collection Level inMarvel Snapat least slightly less daunting.
