Summary
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2has a snowball effect in terms of its difficulty throughout the entirety of the game. AsMarvel’s Spider-Man 2gets progressively more complex as players complete morestoryline missions. But, once players get a hold ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2combat mechanics, gadgets, upgrades, and combos, the game ceases to be as difficult.
For those who seek out more of a challenge throughoutMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, there are plenty of ways to make the game a bit harder. Whether it’s tweakingMarvel’s Spider-Man 2’shighly customizable settings or refraining from utilizing certain features, fans can certainly make the sequel toMarvel’s Spider-Manmore complicated than ever.

5Enable Fall Damage
One of the most ‘memeable’ aspects ofMarvel’s Spider-Manwas the fact that Peter could jump from the highest point in New York City and free-fall to the ground. Once he hit the pavement, he’d get right back up as if nothing happened. This unrealistic part ofMarvel’s Spider-Manwasn’t a primary complaint among the community, but could definitely rip fans out of their immersive experience, or just feel ‘off’ in general.
InMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, fall damage isn’t automatically enabled, but fans have the option to enable the featurein the ‘settings’ menu.Once enabled, falling from great heights can significantly hurt the Spider-Men, and at even higher places, even be the end of the heroes. With fall damage active, fans will have to become much more cautious when swinging around New York City, especially around the taller skyscrapers. Otherwise, Spider-Man would be killed by a grand fall, which would be devastating to a hardcore playthrough.

4Turn Up The Heat With Difficulty Settings
There are several different difficulty modes for fans to choose from when booting upMarvel’s Spider-Man 2for the first time. Despite making a choice, players can still choose a different difficulty level in the middle of their game. WhileMarvel’s Spider-Man 2can be made even easier at the Friendly Neighborhood level, daredevil fans can ramp the heat up to the Spectacular level, which makes the entire game much more difficult.
When Spectacular is enabled, enemies will be much stronger, deal much more damage, and overall provide a much more difficult challenge than they did with the other difficulty settings. Players who seek out a challenge inMarvel’s Spider-Man2will want their first choice to be enabling Spectacular in the settings menu. Spectacular also makes stealth inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2much more difficult, as rather than being gullible and ignorant as usual, Spider-Man’s opponents are more capable of catching him crawling around the walls than in the other difficulty modes. While Miles may have an easier timewith his invisibility power, playing as Peter Parkerwill be much more of a challenge in stealth-based gameplay with Spectacular settings.

3Hardcore – Permadeath
Like many other video games in which the protagonist can die (game-over),Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’stwo main playable characters are capable of dying. This can happen very easily if gamers are overwhelmed in combat or not dodging attacks when their character’s Spider-Sense is tingling. ForSpider-Manveterans, enacting hardcore mode may just be the way to go, especially if they’ve already beatenMarvel’s Spider-Man 2storyline.
While there isn’t a selectable hardcore mode in the game’s settings menu, fans can play by their own rules, much likeaPokemonNuzlocke.A hardcore playthrough ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2may look like this: No heals and dying/being knocked out once results in a complete game-over (no restarts). This essentially adds permadeath intoMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, meaning fans would have to restart the entire game if they had died once.

2Not For The Weak – No Hit Run
There are plenty of self-made/fan-made challenges to make video games way more complicated than they’re supposed to be. These challenges are ways to erupt vitality in a game that has been played over and over. One of the most popular fan-made challenges for video games is the no-hit run, which is very famous among Soulslike titles. A no-hit run is exactly what the title suggests, where fans are unable to take any sort of damage at all throughout the entirety of the video game.
ForMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, it’s very possible, especially withSpider-Man’s parrying and Spider-Sense abilities. That said, a no-hit playthrough ofMarvel’s Spider-Man 2would definitely make the game more challenging than ever, as players would have to constantly be dodging, parrying, and swinging their way around attacks. There are even unique attacks inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2that make the no-hit run even more problematic, such as the explosive bombs during Miles' chase scene with one of the Hunter’s robotic birds during the storyline.

1Disable Hints and UI Features
One of the features that makesMarvel’s Spider-Man 2easier to play isthe game’s UI.The UI inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2has a ton of features that help players work through the game with hints, waypoints, and so on.
When looking to make the game more demanding, players should disable all hints from the settings menu, as well as certain UI settings that are only enabled to make the game easier. Disabling these options, or at least the ‘hints’ will force fans to solve puzzles and work through missions by themselves with no other help.
