The demand forPokemonmerchandise is definitely not something The Pokemon Company underestimates. In fact, the franchise seems to embrace the fanbase’s continuous obsession forPokemonproducts by constantly releasing new items such as thenewPokemonBuild-a-Bear stuffed toy. Now, The Pokemon Company is partnering with another toy maker to produce true-to-life statues of two of the series’ first Pokemon.
Pokemonstatues and figures are not new to the franchise’s large and ever-growing lineup of toys. Since the firstPokemonvideo game came out in 1996 in Japan, the company has produced a ton of merchandise that tickles the fancy of every fan out there. However, now with the fans from 1996 grown up, and with more purchasing power, bigger and moreexpensive products such as giantPokemontoyshave been put out into the market.

On the official site of the Big Bad Boy Store, two newPokemonstatues were posted up for sale just recently. The featured Pokemon included Ash’s iconic partner Pikachu, and the fiery Kanto Region starter Charmander. These statues were crafted to replicate the Pokemon’s sizes as if the Pokemon existed in real life, and stand at a one-by-one scale. To be specific, the Charmander statue is sized at 14.5 x 10.63 x 9.45 inches (37cm x 27cm x 24cm), while the Pikachu statue stands at 20.07 x 12.20 x 12.20 inches (51cm x 31cm x 31cm).
Both of the statues are very detailed, and are posed on top of a stand made with LED lights. They also come with sound effects, giving fans who purchase the statue a unique audio and visual experience when they display the item in their collection. However,Pokemonfans should note that the Pikachu statue will set fans back a whopping $869.99 USD, while the Charmander statue’s price is a bit lower at $599.99 USD. Given the amount of detail and craftsmanship involved in producing these statues, the price tag is something fans should have already expected.

The statues are currently for pre-order on the Big Bad Boy Store site, and will ship out to buyers during the 4th quarter of 2021. Given that the pre-order is only open for Pikachu and Charmander, fans are likely wondering if the rest of theKanto starter Pokemon such as Bulbasaurand Squirtle will be added to lineup. With a promotional image shared on the Charmander statue page featuring two other Poke Balls, it is highly likely that Big Bad Boy Store will stock the other two starters soon. Fans will have to stay tuned to the site for when the nextPokemonstatue pre-order will drop.
