Nendoroid figurines provide an alternative to the chibi-style Funko Pop figures and the more lifelike figurines created by McFarlane Toys or Dark Horse. Good Smile Company has created Nendoroid figurines for a number of popular video game characters over the years. Ellie fromThe Last of Us 2,Sam Porter Bridges fromDeath Stranding, and Isabelle fromAnimal Crossing: New Horizonshave all received a Nendoroid makeover. And, more recently,Nendoroid figurines of Crash Bandicoot and the Doom Slayer fromDOOM Eternalwere announced to be in development for release sometime in mid-2021.
Different Nendoroid figurines come with varying amounts of accessories. For example, the Doom Slayer will come with a helmet, equipment launcher, chainsaw, Crucible Blade, Super Shotgun, two versions of the DOOM Blade, effect parts for the equipment launcher and chainsaw, as well as a mini Cacodemon figure. The Witcher 3’sYennefer Nendoroid, on the other hand, came with only three items: a raven, a lightning effect to add to her hands, and a Gwent card. The prices of the figurines often reflect this variation in the number of props provided.
