Kick, a new streaming platform aiming to rivalTwitch, recently unveiled a set of new moderation policies focused on addressing sexual content on the platform. Despite only being around for a few months, Kick has managed to create a lot of hype in the streaming community due to several factors. One key way thatKick has distinguished itself from other streaming platformslike Twitch is by implementing more relaxed policies. However, these overly relaxed policies have also attracted a fair amount of criticism. For example, popular Twitch streamer Hasan Piker recently called out Kick and its representative Trainwreck for not taking action against Adin Ross, a fellow streamer who had streamed sexually explicit content on the platform. Another instance occurred when a Kick streamer, LtKanada, called outKick for allowing users with racist usernames. Furthermore, there have been instances where streamers have performed sexual activities on the platform without facing consequences.RELATED:Dr Disrespect Comments on Whether He’ll Move to KickAs a response to these concerns,Twitchrival Kick announced new plans to moderate sexual content on the platform. Co-owner Eddie Craven shared the news on the official Kick Discord server, stating that the platform would be increasing its efforts to moderate nudity and sexual behavior. Under the new rules, users are prohibited from wearing underwear, lingerie, or pasties, and soliciting sexual activities in exchange for subscriptions or money. The co-owner emphasized that people should avoid pushing the boundaries on these rules and that they may update them based on how people respond. He also noted that these changes align with Apple’s app store regulations.

Kick’s new moderation policies have been met with mixed reactions. Some people believe that the platform’s initial relaxed policies were to blame for the sexual content on the platform and that the new rules are necessary to create a safer environment. Others argue that the policies are too restrictive and could limit the creative freedom of streamers. It is worth noting that moderation of sexual content is a complex issue, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Platforms like YouTube andTwitch have also struggled with moderating sexual content, and it is likely that Kick will face similar challenges.

Despite the challenges faced by Kick, the platform continues to experience rapid growth and has already attracted some big names from Twitch. In addition, Kick’s co-owner Eddie Craven recently revealed that the platform had over 58 million visitors in March alone. Furthermore, Kick is actively working on adding new features to the website, having already released the Clip Feature and streaming app. Users can also look forward to a new analytics engine, which is set to be released soon according to Craven.
