Jump Festa, one of the biggest anime andmanga eventsof the year, will be live-streamed abroad with English subtitles and interpretations for the first time ever. Two days' worth of events will be live-streamed from the event’s main stage, letting fans from around the world hear the news at the same time as Japanese fans. While the event itself will still take place in Japan, finally international fans will be able to be a part of it.

Jump Festa has been held since 1999 in the Tokyo area, and is one of the biggest events for making anime and manga announcements for the coming year. It features anime and manga from magazines likeWeekly Jump,Shonen Jump+,V Jump,Jump SQ, andSaikyo Jump, all of which are the source of some of the biggest anime around the globe. Just a few of the Jump family’s biggest titles areDemon Slayer,Naruto,Spy x Family,Chainsaw Man, andOne Piece- just to name some of the most popular!

These stories are popular not only in Japan, but around the globe, and anime and manga have only grown in popularity internationally in the past few years. Beyond anime conventions, anime and manga have continued to gain licensing for selling andstreaming outside of Japan. It is becoming less of a niche interest and more, dare we say it, mainstream to watch anime, and merchandise is readily available.

It makes sense that Jump Festa isreaching out to its fansaround the globe. Last year, for the first time videos from the main stage were released with subtitles - three months late. They were popular nonetheless, though, which was just the push Jump Festa needed to take it one step further. This year, the main stage events will be live-streamed simultaneously, making the news accessible and timely.

In addition to the main stage, another special stage called Super Stage EX will be broadcasting exclusively online. Tuning into that gives you access to panels that people at the event itself cannot see. Another stage separate from these main ones, called Jump Studio NEO, will also host panels about some newer, but less popular manga and anime. These will also be available to view online, but will not be subtitled.

The English subbed live-stream times will be as follows (in Japan Standard Time):

Black Clover(11:15 a.m. – 11:55 a.m.)

Jujutsu Kaisen(12:45 p.m. – 1:25 p.m.)

The Prince of Tennis II(2:10 p.m. – 2:50 p.m.)

Boruto & Naruto(3:35 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.)

My Hero Academia(5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.)

Bleach(7:00 p.m. – 7:40 p.m.) - Super Stage EX

Kuroko’s Basketball(7:40 p.m. – 8:20 p.m.) - Super Stage EX

Haikyu!!(8:20 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.) - Super Stage EX

Spy x Family(11:15 a.m. – 11:55 a.m.)

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba(12:45 p.m. – 1:25 p.m.)

Dr. Stone(2:10 p.m. – 2:50 p.m.)

Chainsaw Man(3:35 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.)

One Piece(5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.)

You can watch everything from the Jump Festa 2023official website, or via the Jump Channel onYouTube. Hopefully, if a lot of fans tune in to watch their favorite panels and show their support for the event, Jump Festa will keep doing this in the future. And who knows, following their success maybeother events in Japanwill make themselves more accessible, too.
