Spider-Man: Miles Moralesis a successful spin-off for many reasons, with one of the biggest contributors being its strong story. Memorable cinematics are integral to that storytelling, and oneSpider-Man: Miles Moralesplayer has stumbled across a bug that shows how these scenes are crafted.

Usually, bugs inSpider-Man: Miles MoralesandMarvel’s Spider-Manare more likely to be strange than they are interesting. For example, someSpider-Man: Miles Moralesplayers have unlocked super speed for the young wall-crawler, while others have seen him randomly transforming into objects found throughout New York City. As for the original game, Doctor Strange-like portals have appeared, and gamers have gotten Peter Parker stuck inside walkways. As shown by a recent glitch, however, not all bugs need to be odd.

Much like theMarvel’s Spider-ManSymbiote suit bug, the clip has gotten fans of the webslinger talking. Posted by Reddit user LilArturo, the bug is seemingly caused by entering the pause menu at the exact moment that a cutscene is about to begin. After a brief look at the map and Miles’ suits, LilArturo returns to the game to see Miles unnaturally move into position on top of a pole. A cutscene then begins to play out, with Miles talking to his mentor Peter.

The interesting thing about the clip is that the player has essentially stumbled their way into one of the cutscene tools used byInsomniac Games. In the top right corner, the cinematic can be seen playing out, showing off all the interesting angles used for the final version that shipped with the game. The majority of the player’s screen, however, shows the cutscene from a different angle. Players get to see it play out as if they were still in control of Miles, with Peter dropping down alongside him shortly into the scene. Seeing this angle should be cool for fans, as they never get to experience this normally in-game.

As the cutscene continues,Marvel’s Spider-Manfansget to see how clever the edits of the cinematic are. While the animations are far from smooth, as the character models jump from one movement to the next, the camera cuts cover this up perfectly. Instead of designing proper animations that last the entirety of the scene, Insomniac is smart about when it shows its heroes and when it switches to another piece of the scene. Seeing the helicopter crash and the two Spider-Men get stuck on a wall is particularly interesting, as is the appearance of Rhino.

With over 4,500 upvotes, the game’s fanbase clearly appreciated the fan’s discovery. With many Redditors asking LilArturo to see if this can be done with other scenes, or even in the first game, perhaps someotherSpider-Man: Miles Moralesclipsin this same style could be shown sometime soon.

Spider-Man: Miles Moralesis available now on PS4 and PS5.
