In fact, there are two methods for ejecting a disk, and, unfortunately, it can occasionally get stuck. This guide is here to help players navigate the process of ejecting a disk from the PS5, whether it’s stuck or not.
Method 1: Ejecting the Disk via the Physical Button
Firstly, you have to ensure that the game is not running, as you might end up losing your data. Afterward, locate the eject button. If the console is in the upright position, theeject button will be on the top of the face of the console.
The eject button also features an upward-facing arrow. However, players may not see it properly due to its small size. Press and hold the eject button for a moment toeject the disk. Once the disk is fully ejected, gently remove it and place it properly in the case.
Method 2: Ejecting the Disk on the Home Screen
If players find it troublesome to locate the eject button, they can also do so on the home screen. Press the game you want to eject on the tile on the home screen. Go to the menu using the Options button and select Eject Disk.
The disk will be ejected. Gently remove it and save it in the case.
Method 3: Removing a Stuck Disk
In some unfortunate moments, players find the disk stuck in their PS5. This problem also has an easy solution. In this case, they must turn the console off via the power button. Remove any cables, including the power cable, HDMI cable, internet cable, or any other.
Gently place the console on its side, with the logo underneath and the disk slot on your left side. Remove the side panel, and it’ll expose five screws. Unscrew by rotating the screwdriver in a clockwise direction. Among these screws, one might be covered with a black film, which can be removed or punctured to access the screw underneath.
After unscrewing, the disk will loosen, and players can easily eject it. Assemble the PS5 afterward.
With these methods, players don’t have to worry about ejecting a PS5 disk. Always keep your disks properly in their cases to avoid any data loss.
