In 2021,Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apartwas released exclusively on PlayStation 5 by Insomniac Games, in which players control Ratchet, a rather intelligent alien rodent of sorts, and Clank; his robotic sidekick. Through them, players hop between galaxies/planets and get into all types of intergalactic hijinx as they fight off a multitude of adversaries. It was by and large well-received and praised for its strong story beats spawning multiple dimensions, planets, and a plethora of differing aesthetics. And it’s even pretty to look at -Rift Aparthas very clean graphics as well as a cut-and-dry demonstration of just what thePlayStation 5was capable of.

In July 2023,Rift Apartwas released for PC to decent sales as well as a multitude of bugs, which has led to a resurgence in popularity. While the game itself isn’t especially long, plenty of end-game activities keep players busy (such as collecting raritanium needed to upgrade guns and other gear to their utmost potential). But, with 20 different weapons, leveling them all up can be very time-consuming.

Arena Challenges @ Zurkie’s

First and foremost throughoutRift Apart, bosses are a great way to level up weapons quickly. Not only do they benefit our heroes by giving players bolts (one of the currencies in the game), but grinding out gun XP is rather simple. Once players are done with their initial normal playthrough ofRift Apart, they can go to Zurkie’s Gastropub and Battleplex within Rivet’s dimension for a slew of post-game madness.

Once there, players can participate in the Bronze Cup and subsequently thereafter, the silver and gold cupsof all different varieties. Within these trials, Ratchet and Clank will have to fulfill very certain parameters but be rewarded for their hard work. The best part is that these are all repeatable. Not to mention that getting to revisit some of these beautiful and iconic planets isn’t the worst thing to do while on the grind.

Gold Bolts

Every time players find Zurkie’s gold bolts (a limited resource), they can unlock new cheats and/or multiple mods for their weapons, including infinite health AND infinite ammo. Specifically,Rift Aparthas 25 gold boltsspread out between all nine levels, some of which are quite direct while others aren’t. But once the infinite ammo cheat is unlocked, players can swap guns and unleash all hell on enemies while churning out weapon XP to level up whatever weapon their heart desires.

Once a particular weapon is at level five, players can then swap out any option on the quick access wheel because then they can consecutively earn more progress toward that next gun. Best of all, these are repeatable challenges with multiple tiers (bronze/silver/gold).

Raritanium

Raritanium is among those harder to come by endgame materials inRift Apart. While the gold bolts are the main resource needed to unlock many of the weapons, raritanium is needed to progress said weapons to their full potential. Theseblue crystals can be found throughoutRift Apart, but as the name suggests, they are a bit rare.

Some are easily accessible and are often poking out of crates in plain sight, other times a bit of exploration and grind is required. Raritanium also is kind of the MVP; without these upgrades, players will be unable to level up their weapons and some of these tips will be forfeited.

Captain Starshield Armor Set

Multiple armor sets can be obtained withinRift Apart, many of which require a bit of legwork. A few of these options make farming XP a bit less of a hassle. Among all the multiple titles within theRatchet and Clankuniverse, the Captain Starshield armor set pays tribute to that of 2005’sRatchet Deadlocked. More specifically, Captain Starshield was a hero from Metropolis in Kerwan.

Wearers of this armor set are rewarded with a 20% boost on ALL XP earned, which can speed things up for those who want to grind out weapons even faster. Getting all the pieces of this set is a bit more complicated as players will have to venture out to very specific pocket dimensions. While it is purely cosmetic, the XP benefit makes it one of the most useful in the game. Finally, it is still considered to be among thebest armor sets inRift Apartas a whole.

Cold Snap

This is a specific strategy that can be utilized to farm weapon XP inRift Apart, but it is dependent on a specific gun. Most importantly, the first thing is players will need to use the aforementioned raritanium to completely upgrade the weapon Cold Snap. This shouldbe one of the first gunsplayers focus on due to its strong utility. From there, players will have to complete the “Twice-As-Nice” challenge in the gold tournament. Players will get 30 raritanium from completion, and best of all, they can use cheats too if they are feeling especially “villainous” (infinite ammo is super helpful in this context).

Once in the arena,Ratchetwill use the Cold Snap to freeze the boss and then use whatever weapon they want in their inventory to defeat him and thus level up weapons of their choosing very quickly. While the exact amount of XP that can be farmed is unknown, it is a huge bonus that will save a lot of time.
