Announced earlier this year,Hot Wheels Unleashedis shaping up to be the definitive take on the diecast toy franchise, offering a roster of notorious Hot Wheels vehicles as well as some of film and TV’s most iconic cars. While players will be able to takethe Batmobile,Back to the Future’sDelorian, and Knight Rider out for a spin, it seems they’ll also get the opportunity to parade some personalized designs around the race track, with the game’s newest trailer showing off its range of customization options.

In the promo, players get a good look at what they’ll be able to tinker with during their time with the game, with the footage revealing thatHot Wheels Unleashedoffers plenty of creative freedom, both in its cars and Basement hub area. It even encourages players to share their creations, revealing that they can download other racers' designs and bring them into their own game.

As mentioned prior, It seems the game’s customization will crux around two main elements: vehicles and the Basement. In terms of the former, the cars players race aroundHot Wheel Unleashed’strackswill sport customizable liveries, with the footage highlighting several of the colorful designs they can create. The Rodger Dodger is used as an example, with the footage showing the iconic Hot Wheels car change from its standard black and white livery to a silver livery sporting flames and eventually a striped purple, blue, and yellow livery.

The Rocket Fire and Rip Rod also get short customization showcases, so it seems players can custom fit most of their favorite Hot Wheels cars with unique designs. As for the Basement hub, they’ll be treated to a similar level of creative freedom, with the trailer confirming players can switch up the locale’s color scheme to their own personal preference.

Fans won’t have to wait long before they can start designing their cars, withHot Wheels Unleashed’srelease dateinching closer by the day. As for what they can expect from the title, it’ll see them speed around physics-defying tracks in arcadey racing action, battling it out to see who can reach the finish line first.

It’ll be the first video game adaptation of the beloved toy franchise in several years and already looks to be filled with iconic vehicles, zany tracks, and more. It’s not the only game for nostalgia-hungry fans still set to launch in 2021, withNickelodeon All-Star Brawlseeing players go head to head in free-for-all brawls as their favorite Nickelodeon characters, including SpongeBob, CatDog, Reptar, and Danny Phantom.

Hot Wheels Unleashedis slated to launch on September 30 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
