The first Painter that aHorizon Forbidden Westplayeris likely to come across is named Zokkah, and he is located at theScalding Spear. There is also a Painter in theBulwarkand one inThornmarsh, and the aforementioned icon should lead fans directly to them. Regardless of the NPC that a player ultimately visits first, the process for using face paint is as simple as speaking with the Painter and then selecting the cosmetic that is to be applied.

Horizon Forbidden West: How to Get Face Paints

The vast majority of face paints are unlocked by completing main story missions andside quests inHorizon Forbidden West. That said, there is one special face paint that is obtained by collecting hidden War Totems, of which there are three. This particular cosmetic is sure to be of great interest to fans ofGod of War, and they should always be on the lookout for War Totems while they are exploring.

One final thing to mention is that players can change Aloy’s face paint freely in Photo Mode. This is something that purchasers ofHorizon Forbidden West’s Deluxe Editionshould be aware of, as Photo Mode will give them access to the extra face paint that they are entitled to. Fans may still want to explore Photo Mode even if they have not bought that edition, though, as it is a great way to get a look at face paints, poses, and more.
