Overwatchis an incredibly competitive game, with Blizzard’s hero shooter usually demanding that players work together to win matches. However, oneOverwatchmatch had a very interesting conclusion that came down to two Torbjorns.
Usually, victory in anOverwatchmatchis determined by good communication and synergy with abilities, or at the very least one player’s mastery of a character. Even in blowouts, there is often a bit of a fight at the very end of a hybrid or capture map since the defending team spawns so close to the final point. However, a recent game lacked any kind of team fight in the match’s last seconds, with both the attacking and defending team coming to an agreement about how the game would be decided.

Something like this is obviously rare in theOverwatchcommunity, as few players would be on board with missing out on XP and competitive points by risking a loss. Clearly, all the gamers in this match were just looking for a good time instead of a win, and the result was an intense but funny Torbjorn 1v1. As shown in the clip posted by Reddit user WasMos, both teams made a fight pit at the end ofthe Numbani map, surrounding the two Torbjorns as they prepared to take each other on in the match-deciding fight.
WhileTorbjornhas a fairly powerful Rivet Gun at his disposal, as well as his trusty turret and Molten Core Ultimate ability, these two players decided their fight would be more entertaining if they only used the hero’s hammer. As such, they both switched to the small melee weapon and began swinging at each other, landing hits as everyone else in the match watched on. This 1v1 was made all the more entertaining by the fact that the music was as intense as it could possibly be since the two sides had fought each other to overtime.
This stalemate eventually comes to an end when the attacking team’s Torbjorn wins, and WasMos’ team keeps up their end of the bargain. Everyone from Reinhardt toMercyruns away from the payload, leaping off the side of Numbani and falling to their deaths. With no opposition, the attacking team finishes escorting the payload, likely showering their Torbjorn in praise for his big win. Unsurprisingly, this post has performed well on Reddit, bringing in nearly 5,000 upvotes in the time since it was initially posted.
WhiletheOverwatchcommunity has a reputation for being toxic, moments like this show why it is a mistake to group all players together. Everyone in this match was clearly on board with having a bit of fun, and they will likely remember the funny outcome of this game for a very long time.
Overwatchis available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
