An Argentine Steam andXbox Game Passuser created a Google Chrome extension that allows users to see if a game they want to purchase or wishlist on Steam is also available on Microsoft’s subscription service for PC and console. The Google Chrome extension was created a few months ago but has made the rounds on social media as more users discover and add it to their browsers while searching for the best deals on Steam andXbox Game Passgames.

The extension was last updated on November 22, just a few months beforethe release ofPersona 3 PortableandPersona 4 Goldenon both Steam and Xbox Game Pass. These two titles as well asPersona 5 Royalare just a few examples of which AAA games are available on both Valve’s and Microsoft’s PC services. With titles being shuffled around periodically, it can be difficult to keep track of which games are available on which service. That is where browser extensions can come in and check both databases to see what is available.

The Google Chrome extension named “Available on Game Pass” was created by a user named lucasromerodb, who hails from Argentina. According to the overview on the Chrome Web Store, the extension was designed to let users know if a Steam game is available on Game Pass and display which platforms are available as well. The extension adds a green Game Pass banner above the Add to Cart button on the interface. It also includes which games are available via EA Play, as well aswhich games are coming to Game Passand which ones are leaving the service. The extension works on the game’s Steam page within Google Chrome, but it does not work on the Steam desktop app. The extension was designed for Chromium-based browsers, with a Firefox version in the works, according to lucasromerodb.

Though other PCapps like GOG have the functionality to show collectionsfrom Epic Games Store as well as Steam and Game Pass, it is limited in that it shows what games are already in a user’s library across multiple platforms. The “Available on Game Pass” extension does not require the user to be logged into either service to see what is available for themselves, which also allows users to check for deals no matter where they are.

Thoughno Game Pass app is on the Steam Deckat the time of writing, extensions such as “Available on Game Pass” allows users to fill in the gaps in the meantime. Whether Valve and Microsoft work out a deal for Game Pass on the go or not remains to be seen.
