One of the headlining features of this new Battlegrounds season is the advent of Tier 7 minions. These new cards are staggeringly powerful, with abilities that can gain or give massive stat bonuses or summon multiple mighty minions onto the field upon their deaths.Hearthstoneis introducing 14 Tier 7 minions to start with, but players will only be able to get them if they play the new Thorim, Stormlord hero, or if the Secrets of Norgannon Anomaly is chosen at the beginning of the game.
Anomalies are a new gameplay system coming in the newHearthstoneBattlegroundsseason. These crazy rule adjustments are randomly picked at the beginning of a match alongside hero selection and can change the course of the entire game. Some might have the match start at 10 gold, while others might make all players choose a single hero. Secrets of Norgannon–which activates Tier 7 minions and gives everyone 10 extra armor–is one of over 50 Anomalies that can roll up, but it has five times the normal chance to be chosen in each Battlegrounds game.
Without this anomaly, players won’t be able to get Tier 7 minions in their Battlegrounds game, even if they triple a Tier 6 minion. Thorim’s Hero Power grants him a Tier 7 minion after spending 65 Gold, but none of these otherpowerful Hearthstone minionswill be available in the game.
Were that not exciting enough, the Battlegrounds minion pool is getting a big shakeup. 49 minions are being removed to make way for 32 new ones and 11 returning favorites. Over the next week until the patch goes live,Hearthstonewill be revealing these new minions, as well as the new Tier 7 minions and many of the Anomalies. After the patch launches, more Anomalies be added each week after that, with the newest rules having a higher chance to happen. With these game-changing Anomalies and minions arriving soon,HearthstoneBattlegrounds is about to have some truly titanic clashes unfold in its lobbies.
Hearthstoneis available on Mobile and PC.
