In an age where many developers are going through their back catalogs andeither remaking or remastering themfor rerelease, it isn’t surprising to see Rockstar Games do the same with three of their most popular titles. It offers new players the chance to experience games that helped define a genre and allows those that played them nearly two decades ago to relive them. In addition to the visual overhaul, the reported gameplay update should help the games feel better and more on par with the current generation ofGrand Theft Autogames.

While it’s nice to see some attention being paid to classics, there are many that continue to be frustrated by a lack of new games in the series.Grand Theft Auto 5was released back in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Since then, it has been ported to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. While it can’t be denied thatGTA Onlinehas been a huge success for the company, there are many that feel resources, be they internal or partnered development studios, would bebetter invested in a potentialGTA 6.Either way, players will soon be able to replay some classics without digging out their old consoles and memory cards.
