After two years of early access, Obsidian Entertainment’sGroundedhas finally released in full, giving eager players access to the full experience. Alongside a full story to work through,Grounded’s gameplay is more of a survival sandbox experiencewhere players take on the roll of one of four protagonists that have been mysteriously shrunk down to the size of an ant and placed within the backyard of a suburban home.
It’s up to players to survive inside the backyard by exploring, crafting tools, building bases, and staying alive with food and drink to figure out why this strange science experiment has taken place. Naturally, the backyard is full of dangers like Wolf Spiders, Koi Fish, andother apex predators like the Hedge Broodmother, though players will need to face these creatures in order to harvest useful resources and equipment. However,Groundeddoes have a bit of an openness to it, where players are pushed to discover many things on their own.

This sense of discovery and exploration also applies to finding resources within the world, many of which needs to be found in particular locations within the backyard. This includes materials like Sunken Bones, which are important resources for those looking to craft useful and powerful mid-game gear inGrounded.
What Are Sunken Bones?
As a resource, players will need to find plenty Sunken Bones in order to craft weapons and gear. Specifically, Sunken Bones are useful materials for crafting under-water related items, which are immensely helpful forfully exploring watery locations like the Koi Pond, Flooded Zone, and Pond Depths.
In terms of weapons, the Sunken Bones can be used to help create the following at a Workbench:

In addition to weapons, Sunken Bones can also be utilized in creating extremely useful tier 2 armor whenusing a Workbench.
Where to Find Sunken Bones
Considering that the armor and weapons created from Sunken Bones relate to water, that’s where players will want to head to find them. When searching the Koi Pond, players can spot them sticking out of the ground almost like teeth. Players will need to use an acorn shovel in order to dig them out.
Outside of the Koi Pond, players also have a chance to find Sunken Bones from Buried Treasureinside of the Sandbox biome. This area is located in the southwest corner of the Backyard. FInally, the third location where Sunken Bones can be obtained are from pieces of buried treasure withing the BBQ Spill biome in the north beyond the Upper Yard Ascent.
One thing to keep in mind is that all three of these zones are hazardous, though the Koi Pond is largely the easier to manage of the three as well as easier to get to earlier in the game. The other two biomes have dangerous insects like Antlions, Ladybird Larvae, and Wolf Spiders. In addition, both biomes are considered hotter zones and come with a Sizzle Effect that slowly kills the player the longer that they’re impacted by it. When exploring these zones, players will want to ensure they have proper armor such as Antlion gear or eat some ofGrounded’s various foodsthat provide Sizzle Protection like the Quesadillantlion.
Groundedis available to play now on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox Game Pass.
