Summer 2020 is full of new game announcements, as publishers spread their reveals out instead of saving them up for E3. Another game has now been added to the list from the developers ofGreedFall.Spiderswill be participating in the Nacon Connect event, a showcase of what will presumably be publisher Nacon’s upcoming releases. While Nacon did share a single teaser image for Spiders' upcoming game, that was the extent of its hints. Fans will have to wait until next week for more information.
It hasn’t even been one year since the release ofGreedFall, a maturenarrative-driven action-RPGthat’s proven quite popular despite a lukewarm critical reception. Players fell in love with the game’s story, which revolved around the settlement of an island and the contention between the island’s natives and these invaders. Naturally, there’s also a mysterious dark power at the center of the conflict. That said,GreedFallis published by Focus Home Entertainment, meaning it’s likely unrelated to the new game. ThoughGreedFallfans would likely have preferred an expansion announcement.

WhatGreedFalldoes do is show Spiders' continued polishing of its wheelhouse. WhileGreedFallhad its issues, it was certainly a step forward from Spiders' previous games,The TechnomancerandBound by Flame. If Spiders is indeed working on another action-RPG, it’ll be exciting to see what improvements have been made since GreedFall.
With Spiders' next game now being published by Nacon, the game seems likely to be a new IP. Since Spiders' first game in 2009, 7 of Spiders' 8 games have been published byFocus Home Interactive. The other game was published by DTP. This new era of Spiders' existence seems likely to be started with something new,
Nacon, for those unfamiliar, was previously known asBigben Interactive. Nacon was a subsidiary that was specifically for video game accessories. The company took on the Nacon branding in early 2020, less than a year after the publisher acquired Spiders.
For fans of Spiders' previous work, the new game will be announced during the Nacon Connect presentation on Tuesday, July 7, at 10:00 am PT. The presentation will be available on Nacon’s Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. Spiders' new game isn’t the only title set to be showcased, of course. A newTest Drivegame will be shown, gameplay fromWerewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthbloodwill be shown, and new info is expected aboutRogue LordsandVampire: The Masquerade - Swansong, too.
Spiders' next game has no confirmed release window or supported platforms.
