Now, many fans anxiously await the release ofGreedFall 2: The Dying World, set to launch sometime in 2024. Furthermore, due to the success of the first game, it’s likelyGreedFall 2will see an influx of new players, so it will want to ensure it supersedes its predecessor in the most significant ways.
WhileGreedFallhas indeed been successful, it lacks an array of features that fans have requested be added and improved inGreedFall 2. Many of these features go beyond simple quality-of-life improvements, as fans long to see the entire world ofGreedFall 2reach a state of quality that its predecessor struggled at times to attain. Beyond that, fans have consistently expressed a desire to seeGreedFall’s companion charactersgiven more attention, especially as they were a highlight of the firstGreedFall.
GreedFall 2 Needs a More Dynamic and Diverse Open World
GreedFallis certainly a beautiful sight to behold. The aesthetics of its sizable open world often result in breathtaking views. However, one major issue fans have with it is its lack of environmental diversity, especially when it comes to building interiors. It doesn’t take players long inGreedFallbefore they begin noticing how similar everything looks. Each open area tends to look like the last, and there are even certain interior designs that have seemingly been copied and pasted across the world. As such,GreedFall 2’s open worldwould do well to include more diverse environments to enhance the exploration experience.
GreedFall 2 Should Include More Romance Options With Deeper Stories
One ofGreedFall’s best features is its companions. Each one has a compelling backstory and can make for an entertaining partner while exploringGreedFall’s open world. That being said, romancing them, while enjoyable, is rather short-lived and lacks the depth of the romanceable characters found in many modern RPGs. Each companion’s quest line is only three quests long, and the player doesn’t have to do much but say a few specific lines of dialogue to woo them. Introducing new companions inGreedFall 2with even lengthier quest lines and weightier choices would make for some worthwhile romances. Furthermore, there are onlyfour available romance options inGreedFall, so its sequel should consider including more.
GreedFall 2 Could Use a More In-Depth Character Creator
Character creation is one of the main features hardcore RPG fans look forward to in their games, so they should provide plenty of customization options. Unfortunately,GreedFall’s character creator is very simple, not giving players much control over their character’s appearance. There are only eight presets available between a man and a woman character and only seven characteristics to modify for a man and six for a woman. Additionally, there are onlythree starting classes inGreedFall, each of which is almost unnecessary, as players can mix and match their skills later regardless. Implementing a more in-depth character creator inGreedFall 2with more meaningful features and choices would be an excellent addition and undoubtedly appeal to fans of the genre.
There are plenty of other features fans would love to see inGreedFall 2: The Dying World, like more fluid and varied combat, a more extensive skill tree, and even mounts. However, a more dynamic and diverse open world, more romance options with deeper narratives, and more customization options for characters would likely be enough to sate the appetite of theGreedFallfan base. Thankfully, Spiders has been hard at work onGreedFall’s sequel, so hopes are high that it will prove itself to be far above and beyond its predecessor in a multitude of ways.
