Summary

A newGenshin Impactleak shows how the recently announced character by the name of Wriothesley performs when placed in a team composition that revolves around the Melt elemental reaction. The game allows players to have up to four different characters in their party whose elements can be combined to trigger various reactions that grant different buffs and on-field effects.

Melt is one of the simplest elemental reactions inGenshin Impactas it can be triggered just by applying Cryo damage to a target affected with Pyro and vice versa. However, it should be noted that the order in which the elements are applied is very important since using Pyro as the trigger element has a higher damage scaling.

AnewGenshin Impactleakhas revealed how upcoming Cryo user Wriothesley fits in a team composition that relies on using Melt. While HoYoverse’s official announcement did not specify Wriothesley’s weapon type, recent leaks including this gameplay video confirm that he will be the first Cryo catalyst user inGenshin Impact. This will allow Wriothesley to apply Cryo damage with every Normal Attack which can greatly increase his efficiency in this type of team composition. The team composition shown in the video consists of the following characters: Wriothesley, Bennett, Xiangling, and Kazuha. The three last characters all fill the support role whileWriothesley can be considered a DPS characterwith a fairly simple playstyle.

Bennett and Xiangling have very similar roles in this team which is to apply as much Pyro damage as possible. Overall,Xiangling is probably a better Pyro applicator, but Bennett’s Fantastic Voyage is by many considered the most powerful healing skill in the game. This healing burst also has great synergy with Wriothesley since he does more damage with his Normal Attacks if his HP is above 50%.

Some comments have pointed out thatGenshin Impactshould introduce a new off-field Pyro supportsince almost every team composition that relies on this element uses Xiangling and Bennett. Just like in most other team compositions, Kazuha fills the role of neutral support. His job is to shred the enemies' resistances as much as possible while also applying a powerful damage buff to all of his teammates.

When it comes to Wriothesley’s release date, there is still no official information which means that he can be placed in the first or second banner in the upcomingGenshin Impactupdate 4.1. Going by HoYoverse’s official update schedule, players can expect this update to drop around September 30.

Genshin Impactis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
