TheFriday the 13thfranchise has been around for over 40 years, and in that time a number of actors have taken on therole of Jason Voorhees. The iconic slayer in a hockey mask has terrorized Camp Crystal Lake, Manhattan, space, and even Hell in his unquenchable thirst for vengeance.

Of all the actors to embody Jason, Kane Hodder has reprised the role in four films:Fridaythe 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, andJason X. He also provided motion capture for the character in 2017’sasymmetrical multiplayer horror titleFriday the 13th: The Game.

In a recent video filmed for a fan using the Cameo app, Hodder reveals that he may be starring in another video game. “I’m currently doing a new video game, another horror franchise, that I can’t talk about yet. But you’ll see it eventually,” the actor teases from his kitchen.

From the statement, it’s clear that Hodder will not be appearing in anotherFriday the 13thgameas Jason, but rather a new franchise altogether. Unfortunately, Hodder provides no clue as to what that series might be, and there’s no indication whether it’s a new horror game franchise, the continuation of an existing one, or the video game adaptation of a popular horror film.

Friday the 13th: The Gameallowed Hodder to don Jason’s mask again for the first time in 17 years, the last film he starred in having released in 2002. The Michael Bay-produced 2009reboot of the seriesreplaced Hodder with a new actor as Jason, but for many fans Hodder has come to represent the supernatural slayer because he held the role for so many years. For this reason, many were excited to hear Hodder would be recording the motion capture sequences for Jason in the game.

A number of actors from theFriday the 13thfilms made a return for the game. Thom Mathews, who played Tommy Jarvis inJason Lives, reprised his role inFriday the 13th: The Game, and the in-game character was modeled after Tommy’s appearance in that film. Larry Zerner,Part III’sShelly, returned to the role when that character was added to the game a few months after release. The likenesses of Gloria Charles as Fox fromPart IIIand Dick Wieand as Roy Burns fromA New Beginningwere used as well.

Friday the 13th: The Gameis a survival horrortitle in which up to seven players take on the role of Camp Crystal Lake counselors trying to escape from the relentless and deadly pursuit of Jason, who is controlled by one player.
