Summary
Fortnitehas introduced an age rating for Creative Mode, limiting which cosmetics players can use.Fortniteis one of the most popular games in the world, and it offers a variety of game modes.
One of the modes available inFortniteis Creative, a tool that lets players create customized maps and modes. Creative is much loved byFortniteplayers, but a recent change impacted one aspect of this mode.

Fortnitenow has age ratings for Creative Mode, so not all cosmetic items will be usable. Every published experience will now have an age and content rating. If aFortniteplayer equips an item and joins an island below the designated rating threshold, the cosmetic displayed will be its compatible version. OnFortnite’s official website, the announcement explains that whenplayers buy a new item, the game shows in which modes it can be used.
Fortniteplayers have shown great dissatisfaction with the change, and many are calling for the decision to be reversed or for the affected items to be refunded.Fortniteleaker iFireMonkey shared images of the Visitor, Black Widow, Demogoron, Stoneheart, and Mincemeat skins on Twitter, showing they now have an age rating. A Reddit user noted that the restriction also applies to music disks, loading screens, and gun wraps. Amid the frustration, one detail has not escaped theFortnitecommunity: while Epic has restricted certain cosmetics on Creative,Michael Myers’s skinhas escaped the same fate. Myers is the antagonist of the horror movie franchiseHalloween, and inFortnite, his pickaxe is a knife, and his back bling is a pumpkin with a knife stuck in it, so it’s odd that his skin wasn’t restricted.

Fortnite Skins Affected by Island Age Rating
Culture Vultures published a listwith over 20 skins affected by the change, and a significant part of it is made up of collaboration skins such as Lara Croft and Deadpool.
Fortnitehas a very vocal community, so it’s no surprise that players have strong opinions about everything Epic Games does. In the case of the age restriction for cosmetics, in addition to criticism, petitions have been created calling for its removal, one of which has almost 3,000 signatures. Epic Games hasn’t commented on whether it will reverse the change or make any adjustments to reduce thefrustration ofFortniteplayers.
