First released last year alongside its GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080 graphics cards, DLSS 3 is aNVIDIA artificial intelligence softwarethat helps to improve frame rate at lower resolutions. This allows a player to render a game at 1080p and then use DLSS 3 to get 4k graphics without the extra strain on their GPU. With this update, Fortnite fans will be able to achieve greater in-game graphics without sacrificing PC performance.
One downside to this update is that it will only be available to PC players with an RTX 40 series graphics card. Anyone with an RTX 20 or 30 will be unable to utilize this new update. That said, NVIDIA has previously released DLSS 2 compatibility forFortnite, meaning RTX 20 and 30 users can still utilize the older version of this software. Improved graphics can make a world of difference invarious battle royale games, particularly when it comes to frame rate determining whether someone is able to line up a shot or miss their mark.
