The director ofForspokenhas surprised fans with an update to the playable demo that was released earlier for PlayStation 5.Forspokenis an action RPGthat follows protagonist Frey Holland as she is transported from New York City to the fantasy world of Athia.Forspokenis created by Luminous Productions, which is a development team made from the talent that worked onFinal Fantasy 15. The team is a Japanese studio that is a subsidiary of Square Enix, formed with the intent to create polished Japanese games for a worldwide audience.The action RPG offers unique gameplay revolving around Freya’s magical abilities that allow the player to use a variety of skills for both combat and level traversal as she goes through her journey to find a way back home from the fantasy world of Athia.Forspokenrecently released a playable demo for PS5that allowed fans to give their feedback. In response to the feedback, Luminous Production detailed plans to address concerns of fans and added a list of changes coming to the full game. Earlier today, the director ofForspokenfollowed up with that promise and stated that the team would also be adding updates to the playable demo on PS5 as well. In a post to Twitter, Takeshi Aramaki shared that the demo would receive an update that included: buttom mapping options, a fix to lock on issues, text size adjustments, and a general patch to various technical issues.

Fans of theForspokendemo were excited to see the dedication the developer has to supporting the game and addressing any issues the game has less than a week from release. There were also some more skeptical gamers that replied to the post with concerns thatForspokenreceiving updates so late reflect that the game is not ready for full release.

Skepticism aside, the updated features added to the demo were a direct response to consumer feedback from PS5 players. The announcement follows the beautifulcinematic trailer forForspokenthat Square Enix recently released as well, so it seems like Square Enix and Luminous Production are investing a lot into making this game a success.

Forspokenofficially releases on January 24 for both PC and PS5.
