There’s not been much information on what a Real-Time Tactics game is, asSpellcraftmarks a first for this new genre. According toSpellcraft’screators, players will have to sign on for the game’s alpha to experience what it has to offer. From the trailer, not much was shown in the world of gameplay, but there were some hints as to what fans could expect. In the trailer, viewers will see a round game board, with eight pieces on it which then come to life. It’s currently unknown if the game will portray the game and its pieces as real, or part of anothercharacter’s imagination as inTiny Tina’s Wonderlands.

The characters shown off inSpellcraft’strailer appear diverse, with some seeming like typical fantasy characters while others look like cars brought to life with wrenches for hands. In the game, players will control a board of four heroes, facing off against another player in a strategy game. UnlikeMOBAs such asDOTA 2andLeague of Legends,Spellcraftrequires a player control more than one hero with different abilities. Another element of the gameplay is in collecting these heroes as well, however not much has been stated on this.

From the first trailer, not much is known onSpellcraft. For fans of strategy titles, this may be one to watch as it does appear to show some new and unique elements to the genre. The game is coming to certain players in a closed alpha soon, but there is currently no news whether it will join services like Early Access as it continues to develop, or will keep its playtests closed. With formerBlizzardemployees at the helm, fans are already expecting a quality similar to the nostalgic strategy games of the company’s past.
