Nintendo released a trailer for the final wave ofFire Emblem Engage’sexpansion pack less than a week ago and it is sure to be the most content-packed wave yet. This DLC is referred toas the Fell Xenologueand seems to be set in an alternate dimension where Lumera sacrificed herself to defeat the Fell Dragon Sombron.

With no guidance from Lumera, the other kingdoms are on bad terms, which causes the continent to have unrest. With that, the Fell Xenologue promisesa new story with new characters, new maps, and new classes – which will surely be a fun addition for any fans of the game.

7Somniel In Ruins

The Somniel acts as the main basebetween battles for the player – similar to the Garreg Mach Monastery from Three Houses. This place consists of floating islands where Alear, the main character, had slumbered for 1000 years. This place is a part of the holy land of Lythos. Here, the player can find anything they might need, such as weapons, items, or clothes. It’s also a place where many important activities can be done.

In the trailer, for a few moments, fans can see the main buildings in the Somniel completely destroyed. This could, perhaps, mean that the player will not have access to the Somniel during this DLC.

6Veyle Nowhere To Be Seen

Veyle is a major character in the main story ofFire Emblem Engage.Being Alear’s younger sister, she played a big part in the plot – first being with Sombron and then joining Alear and their group to fight against the Fell Dragon. A powerful unit, Veyle is an interesting character to deploy on the battlefield.

During the trailer, fans were able to see all the major characters, such as Alfred and Diamant. This all makes Veyle’s absence during the trailer that much weirder. This could perhaps mean that she will not be in the DLC due to Sombron’s defeat before, or she could appear later on unexpectedly.

5Nel And Nil’s Weapons

One thing every player undoubtedly paid attention to isthe two new characters – Nel and Nil, the Fell Dragon siblings whom this game will take great interest in. Nel is the older sister with powerful abilities, such as the possible skill to turn into a dragon, while Nil is the younger brother, who lacks the same power but is definitely anything but weak, as seen from the trailer.

Either way, these two characters use two special weapons that are not exactly new to this game. Nil wields an axe named Revanche, meanwhile, his older sister Nel wields a lance, referred to as Représailles.

4Different Victory Conditions

In typicalFire Emblem Engagebattles, only a single character takes priority on the battlefield, which is Alear. This makes sense as he is the game’s main character. This means that if Alear is defeated during battle, the player is forced to either rewind time with the Draconic Time Crystal or lose the fight completely.

In the Fell Xenologue DLC, however, this extends to Nel and Nil as well now. They take a huge focus in the story and, thus, their defeat also gives the player a Game Over screen. This means that, now, the player has to take extra care with not only Alear, but the other two new dragons as well.

3Mauvier Is The Only One Who Doesn’t Change

One interesting aspect of this game is the change in all the known characters’ personalities, from Griss going from a sadistic person to a scaredy coward named Gregory, to Alcryst going from a low self-esteem individual to someone with a lot of confidence who speaks up over his brother. It is clear that some of these characters get a total 180 when it comes to their attitudes.

However, one person clearly stays unchanged, and that is one ofthe members of the Four Hounds, or in this universe, the Four Wings – Mauvier. While his comrades got a color scheme and personality change, he has no noticeable change at all.

2Fell Spark

Nil, the older twin sister of Nel, is a character with great power and an interesting new ability. While her class allows her to wield lances, it isn’t her only accessible attack method. Indeed, she also can turn into a Dragon, something that wasn’t accessible to the player in the original game at all.

To access this power, she makes use of what is referred to in the game as Fell Spark, which is the same concept as a Dragon Stone from previous games. It will be interesting to see if other dragon characters besides her are able to use this power, such as Alear.

1Diamant At The End Of The Trailer

The trailer is full of content and showcases a lot of what’s to come when the Fell Xenologue DLC is released. With that, the trailer focused greatly on the royal characters, from Firene’s Alfred and Celine, to Brodia’s Diamant and Alcryst, as well as Timerra and Ivy.

Diamant might’ve gotten overshadowed by his younger brother Alcryst, who, perhaps, had one of the most drastic character changes, as seen in the trailer. However, at the end of the trailer, a man is heard screaming in agony after seemingly being stabbed. While the identity of the victim is not confirmed just yet, it seems to be Diamant’s voice, meaning something bad could happen to him in this DLC.
