With weeks to go until its fifth expansion is released, Square Enix revealed toFinal Fantasy 14players that the next Letter From the Producer Live episode will air on June 14 and discuss someDawntrailtopics not covered in the previous broadcast.Final Fantasy 14also confirmed that the in-game currencies called scrips and Allagan tomestones will receive some changes inDawntrail.
During May 16’s episode of Letter From the Producer Live,Final Fantasy 14producer and director Naoki Yoshida showed offtheDawntrailJob Action trailer,which gave players a brief glimpse of the new spells and abilities that each combat Job will get inDawntrail. Following the trailer, Yoshida glossed over some changes that each Job and role would receive and demonstrated the new Viper and Pictomancer Jobs in-game to give players an idea of how to play them. Yoshida then confirmed that theDragon Quest 10and KFC Japan collaborations would return in June, which added to a stacked slate of events in the weeks leading up toDawntrail’s early access launch on June 28.
While the expansion is still a few weeks away,Final Fantasy 14players were given more things to consider in their preparations.According to the Lodestone, Letter From the Producer Live Part 82 will air on Friday, June 14, at 7:00 AM Eastern. The Live Letter will be aired on Twitch and YouTube and will go over Patch 7.0 updates not mentioned in the previous broadcast. The launch trailer forDawntrail’s main story using in-game graphics is expected to appear during the broadcast, which may contain spoilers forFinal Fantasy 14players who are not caught up. Other topics may includewhat players can expect in the Arcadion raid seriesand similar pieces of content to come in Patch 7.0 and beyond.
What’s Going On In Final Fantasy 14? (June 2024)
Final Fantasy 14also shared changes to in-game currencies that will take effect inDawntrail. Allagan Tomestones of Comedy and Causality will no longer be obtainable but can be exchanged for Allagan Tomestones of Poetics at a specific ratio. White Crafters' and Gatherers' Scrips will also be unobtainable but can be exchanged for Purple Scrips inDawntrail. Allagan Tomestones of Astronomy and Yellow Scrips will be removed entirely from the game once Patch 7.0 is released. Both Purple Scrips and Allagan Tomestones of Poetics can be used topurchase glamours and gearfor Jobs level 90 and below. New Scrips and Allagan Tomestones will be available once players reach level 100.
Between the upcoming changes andthe newDawntrailPC Benchmark,Final Fantasy 14players have plenty to do before the expansion’s launch. What players will do to max out their currencies ahead of time remains to be seen.
