Since its release in March 2020, Raven Software’sCall of Duty Warzonehas suffered from a seemingly never-ending series of bugs, ranging from game breaking to ridiculous. It seems that every other day there is a report of a new glitch hindering enjoyment of the game, andWarzoneplayers have had to deal with controllers disconnecting, spawn issues, and unkillable opponents, among other things. As a result, some of theWarzoneplayer base has been turning to other shooters like Respawn’sApex Legendsand 2016’sBattlefield 1.
For the holiday season, Raven Software attempted to add some lighthearted fun toCall of Duty Warzone, and even that caused a number of problems.Warzone’sFestive Fervor update began causing crashesfor a number of players as soon as enemy NPC Krampus appeared on the map to begin hunting someone. On top of that, the folkloric entity will sometimes be invisible, blocking player movement and killing them seemingly out of nowhere.

ManyWarzoneplayers are fed up, including Twitch streamer Kalei Renay, who became the first female member of FaZe Clan in June. Recently, another streamer named Ayden posted on Twitter that he had playedApex Legendsfor an hour and found it very refreshing. Kalei’s response was that perhaps everybody should just switch to Respawn’s free-to-play hero shooter, and her tweet now has nearly 3,000 likes.
Some of the replies to FaZe Kalei’s tweet expressed hope that players leavingWarzonein droves to play other shooters would compel Activision and Raven Software to put more effort into fixing the game’s plethora of issues. Other comments scoffed at the idea, replying that Activision is likely indifferent to player departures, and still others replied that they had already made the move toApex Legends.
Respawn’s game has had its share of bugs as well, however. The shooter’sown holiday-themed update introduced an exploit that allowsApex Legends’ Loba to glitchinside the Winter Express train. This causes players using the exploit to become unkillable while keeping the vehicle constantly contested, thereby preventing the opposing team from earning points.
This hasn’t kept players from enjoying the game, though. Recently,Respawn released the year in review stats forApex Legends, and the numbers are impressive. In 2020, more than 22 billionApex Legendsplayers have been killed, 5.5 billion revived, and 1 billion respawned. There have also been 16 billion ultimates used this year and, despite its reputation as the worst gun in the game, players using the Mozambique managed to rack up 446 million kills.
Apex Legendsis available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
