However, while there are plenty of marriage candidates in the game, they will all require the player to gift them specific items to impress them, which is why it’s important to pay attention to their interests during a conversation or while out on a date. It also needs to be noted that while a handful of potential partners will be available from the start, others will require the player to progress through the story. Once a character has been successfully wowed by the player, they will then begin opening up and sharing details about their own life, and the world of Azoria in general, though there are some who are a lot more interesting to talk to than others.
6Nhamashal
Due to hiswealthy and prestigious upbringinggrowing up in a mansion, Nhamashal has a tendency to look down on everyone who doesn’t share the same expensive tastes that he does, but he will soften up a little bit when romanced. The issue is though, because of how stubborn and egotistical he can seem at first, it can easily turn a lot of people away from even wanting to get close to him in the first place.
Due to his desire for expensive items and ornaments, he will also need to be gifted polished ores and minerals in order to please him which is a lot to ask for and can take quite a bit of dungeon exploring and crafting. Nhamshal will eventually show a different side to his character when he grows closer to the player, but hisinitially rotten attitudeand expensive demands still don’t make it easy to fall for him.

5Pyria
Once the players have completed the mission to remove the whirlpools, Pyria will finally appear in the village and be available to speak to, and also to romance if the player gifts her any items that come in black. These can include black zinnia, black tulips, black lilies, black hyacinth, and her absolute favorite, black trillium. As the preferred color palette may have suggested, Pyria is very much agothic characterwho may seem fairly intimidating at a glance but is actually a very shy introvert who just loves reading books in her spare time.

Pyria can often seem like she’s trapped in her own head, and talking to her about this can easily lead to some very deep and personal conversations, but her limited interests do mean that there’s only a certain amount of topics that can be talked about. Still, though, anyone looking to cozy up with a partner to read through a few scrolls or novels should definitely spark up a conversation with Pyria.
4Galan
Galan is another character who will only pop up in the village once the whirlpools have been dealt with, but he’s immediately recognizable for his giant golden-brown wings and green skin. After speaking to him, it’s revealed that Galan is actually a fierce warrior who has traveled from the distant Republic of Sagnow, and there are certainly plenty of interesting stories to hear about this area when romancing him.
Just like any warrior would, Galan loves being gifted food to keep his strength and energy in check, and while he loves baked mac and cheese along with magic beans, his personal favorite is candy corn which isusually used for creating potions. When he’s not wandering around the village, Galan can be found training in the Verdant Valley with his own personal dummy. He’s a fascinating character to talk to, and considering he can be romanced by simply being gifted some food, he’s also easy to get close to.

3Jack
Jack is one of the very first characters the player will run into once they land in the world of Azoria, but once players completethe tutorial missions, they don’t need to leave him behind entirely. In fact, Jack can easily be romanced by gifting him any type of lumber from trees, or some grilled fruit, which is a testament to just how much he loves the outdoors and nature.

He will share these passions with the player extensively once the two settle down, and will even spill a few details about his many brothers and what they’ve been up to. He’s extremelysweet, kindhearted, and just a real joyto be around, so there’s no need to worry about returning home after a long day of farming, only for Jack to ruin the mood by being grumpy. Jack’s always up for a chat, and his needs also aren’t hard to fulfill either.
2Pepper
While Pepper does have several interests that she enjoys discussing with the player, by far her biggest passion is cooking, so for anyone who similarlyloves talking about delicious recipesand ingredients, Pepper is the perfect character to romance. She also isn’t very picky with her daily gifts, usually asking the player to pick up some fish jerky, mushroom jerky, nut butter, or even just some flour, all of which are easy to acquire and will make for an extremely happy Pepper.
When Pepper isn’t expressing her love for all things cooking, she will also chat about her love for the outdoors and her affinity for fishing. She’s a real bundle of joy who always has something new to say, and considering the player is almost always going to have some food on them anyway, it’s very easy to impress her when running in between tasks.

1Argyle
Catching crittersis a huge part of the daily gameplay loop in Fae Farm, and one character who can shed a lot of light on the many different creatures that reside in Azoria is Argyle, a charming but fairly timid character who actually appears at the beginning of the game by the docks. Understandably, he loves receiving gifts that have anything to do with bugs and frogs including nectar, common toads, fae dust, and especially the mystical rainbow frog.
What makes him such a joy to be around though, and the reason he stands out from the rest, is just how many hobbies and interests he has. Painting, pottery, frogs, and bug-catching are just a few of the things Argyle will talk to the player about during their dates, meaning he never becomes stale or predictable, and instead, is an incredibly fun and engaging character to be around, even if he is a little timid in the way he acts.

Fae Farmis available now on PC and Nintendo Switch.
