Summary

It’s been about five months sinceMortal Kombat 1first hit store shelves, and its reception has remained fairly positive. While many in the fighting game community have criticizedMortal Kombat 1’s lack of offline modes, its rather greedy microtransactions, and its myriad of technical issues, the game has still managed to retain a fairly healthy player count, and a big contributing factor in that isMortal Kombat 1’s post-launch DLC.

Opting for a seasonal approach,Mortal Kombat 1receives new content every few months, with players getting new Invasions content and cosmetic drops for free. These seasons also usually coincide with the release of a paid DLC fighter, andMortal Kombat 1’s have, mostly, gone down a treat. Both Omni-Man and Quan Chi have been excellent additions to the roster, and with Peacemaker landing in just a few weeks, the future looks bright forMortal Kombat 1, and that’s not even mentioning the game’s promising leaked DLC roster.

At just a glance, thisMortal Kombat 1leaked DLC rosteris incredibly exciting. This list is filled with huge names, both fromMortal Kombat’s own storied history and from the wider world of pop culture. In terms of franchise staples, both Cyrax and Noob Saibot could allegedly come toMortal Kombat 1, along with Kano, Sareena and Cassie Cage.

Though some of these characters have already been represented inMK1asKameo Fighters, there’s more than enough room on the roster for a full spot. And then there are the crossover characters, with long-rumored fighters like Doomslayer and Ghostface potentially coming to the game. IfMortal Kombat 1’s Kombat Pack 1 has proven anything, it’s that any crossover could be on the table.

The Chances of These Mortal Kombat 1 DLC Leaks Coming True

But whileMortal Kombat 1’s first Kombat Packproved that anything is possible, it doesn’t necessarily mean that all ofMortal Kombat 1’s leaks are going to come to fruition. When discussing the likelihood of these leaks coming true, it’s incredibly important to note that all of these potentialMortal Kombat 1DLC fighters were leaked months ago.

The vast majority of these leaks came from a major datamine following the game’s launch in September 2023, mostly by Twitter user Thethiny. Some of these leaks came long beforeMortal Kombat 1had even been released, withHarley Quinn and Doomslayerbeing leaked back in June 2023, and rumors surrounding Conan or He-Man’s potential DLC involvement coming in May 2023.

There have been no substantialnewMortal Kombat 1DLC fighter leakssince about September 2023, and while this doesn’t necessarily mean that these leaks won’t come true, it does give them a little less credence, as a lot can change during a game’s development, and just following it. Another important point of note is that while datamines can often have a sizable grain of truth to them, theMortal Kombat 1leak is a tad tenuous in spots.

From the list above, it can be seen that Kotal Kahn, He-Man, and Conan the Barbarian are all linked together, and there’s a reason for that. Currently, fans don’t really know who this DLC character could be, with the datamine just uncovering a few vague voicelines that simply refer to a “burly man with a broadsword,” and fans essentially guessing from there. Ghostface is in a similar boat, with the datamined voicelines simply referring to a man in a cloak with a mask and a knife.

While Ghostface, Conan, and, to a lesser extent, He-Man would all make sense inMortal Kombat 1’s new universe, these leaks should be taken with a pretty big pinch of salt. That’s especially true for the leaks surrounding Harley Quinn, Doomslayer, and Deathstroke, as those came out long beforeMortal Kombat 1even released, and fans have heard virtually nothing about them since. What’s a little more believable is that franchise staples will be heading toMK1’s roster, with all but Noob Saibot making a direct appearance or being referenced by name during the game’s story.
