EVE Onlinehas been successfully operating for over two decades, and has set and reset several world records related to the largest number of players in a single online battle. Thisspace gameis renowned for its deep, player-driven politics and a completely player-run manufacturing and market economy.
In the newEVE Online: Equinoxexpansion, the developers, CCP, is aiming to revitalize lawless nullsec space, which is generally controlled by large player alliances. The expansion introduces several new ships that are intended to be used in the role of nullsec haulers of the new planetary resources. Several new orbital structures were also introduced, opening up new paths to profit in this legendaryMMORPG.
8The Squall
Small Reagent Hauler
The Squall is a new hauler added toEVE Onlinein theEquinoxexpansion. It is intended as an entry-level reagent hauler. It has an integrated infrastructure bay that will be able to carrymoon miningmaterials, planetary industry materials, and the new reagents.
Skill requirements for the Squall are fairly low, and even the newest players toEVE Onlinewill be able to train for it in days. It has slightly more survivability than the existing tech 1 haulers, and it is also armed, with firepower roughly equivalent to a missile cruiser.
7The Deluge
Covert Ops Hauler
The Deluge was added toEVE Onlinein theEquinoxexpansion, to fit the role of a blockade-running hauler with covert ops capability, in thisspace sim. Competing directly with tier 2 transport ships, the Deluge has higher maximum speed, and, of course, is able to fit a covert ops cloaking module.
The infrastructure bay can hold the new reagents, and also planetary and moon mining materials. This means that the Deluge is primarily going to be used in nullsec space. Unlike the current tier 2 transport ships, the Deluge is well armed, with 5 missile launcher turret slots.
6The Torrent
Deep Space Transport
The Torrent is another new transport ship that was added toEVE Onlinein theEquinoxupdate. This is the big brother to the Squall. It has more cargo capacity, and far greater defenses than the Squall. The downside being the training required to pilot it effectively.
With a decent-sized infrastructure bay, this is likely going to be the go-to hauler for nullsec moon mining and planet harvesting operations. For nullsec players who currently fly a Squall, the Torrent is a logical upgrade path once they have trained for it.
5The Avalanche
Reagent Hauling Behemoth
Freighter pilotshave not been overlooked in theEVE Online: Equinoxupdate. The Avalanche is a huge Upwell freighter that was added as part of the update. What makes the Avalanche stand out from the original lineup of freighters available in the game, is the fact that it can mount capital-class shield hardeners, making it very tanky and ideal for operating in dangerous areas.
With a baked-in reduction to jump fatigue, it is well suited to long hauling routes. And with a massive infrastructure bay, it is ideal for large corporations to use in their moon mining or planetary extraction endeavors.
4Personalized Ships Skins
Design Any Skin
Ship skins have long been available to players ofEVE Online. They are often dropped as loot during special events, or given away as a daily login reward. Additionally, there are many ship skins available in the PLEX store. Some skins are permanent, others only last for a short time.
The Equinox expansion forEVE Onlinebrings a brand-new feature for players who want to customize their ships. Players can now design their own custom ship skins. Additionally, once a player is happy with a skin, they are free to try and sell it to other players. A number of new skills have been added to the game that impact the cost and speed of developing new skins.
3Metenox Moon Drill
Moon Mining Is Back
Automated moon mining is back in theEVE Online: Equinoxexpansion. A completely new infrastructure structure has been added to the game, in the form of the Metenox Moon Drill from Upwell. This new structure can be constructed around moons in lowsec, nullsec, and also K-space.
However, the new Metenox Moon Drill is far less efficient in extracting moon goo than current options such as manually extracting resources manually, using a mining module attached to a Tatara or Athanor. It is fully automated though, so it will be a source of passive income.
2Orbital Skyhook
To Extract New Planetary Resources
The Orbital Skyhook is a brand-new structure that players can build inEVE Online, and it ties in with the new planetaryresource harvestingmechanics introduced in the Equinox update. It can only be constructed in nullsec space, within a region that is under sovereignty control.
Once constructed, it can be used to harvest planetary resources automatically, with players simply visiting it to unload it regularly. However, an Orbital Skyhook can also be raided by enemy players and the resources stolen. An entirely new warning and notification system has been introduced to facilitate this feature.
1Sovereignty Hub
Staking A Claim In Nullsec
The new Sovereignty Hub is a direct replacement for the existing Infrastructure Hub. This is a modular structure that can be constructed to claim sovereignty of a system in theEVE Online: Equinoxexpansion. Intended to be deployed by player alliances, the Sovereignty Hub will offer a way for these organizations to upgrade systems that have been claimed.
The Sovereignty Hub also replaces the old Territorial Claim Units, combining the features of these and the Infrastructure Hub into a single, unified structure with additional features. However, it can only be constructed in the nullsec areas of thehuge open-world map.
