Escape from Tarkovis a survival FPSthat’s facing stiff competition as multiple clones of the title enter the market. First released in 2017, it dominated the FPS survival sub-genre until 2024. Since the start of the year, similar games have been released, including Tencent’sArena Breakout: Infinite.

Beginning on May 10, Buyanov addressed the community on his personal Twitter account asking for suggestions on what the dev team should change next. Originally working off a thread by Velion, a popular streamer, it was further refined with a focus on Found in Raid tagged items. The adjustments would remove restrictions around these items, allowing them to be sold in the game’s flea market. The change is expected to drastically increase the benefits of participating inPvP inEscape from Tarkov.
Escape from Tarkov Director Asks Fans for Feedback on Future Fixes in Tweet
While Found in Raid removal was one of the top suggestions from the community, others include implementation of quality of life features found inArena Breakout: Infinite, specifically load times. Better implemented wipes, new items, and overall optimization of maps were additional items that frequently appeared in the thread. Dealing withcheaters inEscape from Tarkovwas mentioned, but is a consistent problem throughout the industry.
The outreach comes on the heels of weeks of controversy about the title. Along with similar games, various issues plaguing the game have eroded community loyalty. Among these isEscape from Tarkov’s paid PvE mode, microtransactions, and a special edition that’s viewed as pay-to-win due to included bonuses.
Though Buyanov apologized forEscape from Tarkov’s PvE fiasco, the negative fallout is still affecting the title. Only time will tell if the player outreach benefits the overall game and keeps the title as one of the best FPS survival games on the market. So far it appears the dev team is taking it seriously, as an update removing Found in Raid tags has already been implemented.
