SinceElden Ring’s launch, FromSoftware has been busy releasing several key updates for the game. Many of these balance weapons, summons, and bosses more, even if this is a mostly single-player game. The rationale behind some of them, like theMimic Nerf Tear, was to encourage players to explore other elements of the game too.

However, someElden Ringupdates added important quality of life updates like NPC markers to the map, and others made some small changes to cutscenes.Namely,Elden Ring recently changed Morgott’s intro cutscene, removing a fire aesthetic from his weapon. This may have been an oversight at launch, as lore would suggest that the Golden Order doesn’t use fire, but it’s clear that FromSoftware has been busy refining the game.

It doesn’t seem like it’s going to stop either. The officialElden RingTwitter account put out a message, thanking fans for all the support since launch. It’s no secret thatElden Ringis still topping sales chartsand has been a source for endless discussion since then, but it also added that it is “working on further improvements for updates going forward. We hope you continue to enjoy your adventures in the Lands Between.”

MoreElden Ringupdates only bode well for the game, and it’ll be interesting to see what FromSoftware adds in future updates. It’s likely to be more refinements, buffs, and nerfs as outlined above, but it could also be more substantial content like new quests and more. At the same time, it could be something as big as the opening ofElden Ring’s Colosseums.

These updates will also likely continue before and afterElden Ringgets DLC. FromSoftware has yet to confirm any premium post-launch content forElden Ringquite yet, but it seems more like a matter of when, not if. Several pastFromSoftware Soulsborne gameshave received DLC, andElden Ring’s launch is arguably the biggest of them all. Not providing DLC would just be leaving money on the table.

Either way, it’s clear that FromSoftware is not done withElden Ringquite yet. If it does introduceElden RingDLC, chances are there will be new weapons and new builds, and those may need balancing. Before, after, or in just general updates, it’ll be interesting to see howElden Ringcloses the year that it began so strongly.

Elden Ringis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
