Summary
Penalties are as easy as they have ever been inEA Sports FC 24, continuing the same mechanic used forFIFA 23. Stopping the timer in green pretty much guarantees a good shot on target, even if the player has a low penalty rating, but the keepers seem to stop it more often than not. That’s where the good penalty-takers separate themselves from the rest, being able to take truly unstoppable shots from the 12-yard spot.
There are a few things to take into consideration when trying to uncoverthe best penalty-takers inEA Sports FC 24. Other attributes such as composure and shot power are key for a good penalty-taker. Signature styles, although they might seem like an aesthetic-only addition, also increase the goal percentage for the players that have them.

Updated June 16, 2025, by Ben Painter:There are multiple ways to score goals in EA Sports FC 24; a header from a corner, a long shot from outside the box or a striker played through one-on-one and finishing. But the most certain way to score a goal is from the penalty spot. When someone is fouled inside the box, preventing a clear goal-scoring opportunity, the referee will award the player with a free shot on goal. When it comes to taking the actual penalty, some players are better at this than others and EA recognizes this by the separate ‘penalties’ stat in the game. This updated list adds five more of the best penalty takers and gives some more context for gamers looking to fit those players into their Ultimate Team squads.
15Robert Lewandowski
90 Penalties
Barca’s striker has always been the man to take penalties way back from his days at Borussia Dortmund. He is another member of the 90-rated penalty club; however, he is also one of the most special players when it comes to finishing from the 12-yard spot. His 91 shot power and his 88 composure surely prove so.
Lewandowski, of course, as one of the highest-rated players in the game for finishing with a 93, also has useful PlayStyles like power shots and finesse shots that will increase the chance of scoring as well as offering different ways to take the penalty. He is arguably one of the most competent penalty-takers; hewould have a great chanceat scoring no matter what.

14James Tavernier
The veteran English player from the Rangers, surely well known to any regular player of Ultimate Team, is rated at a humble 78 overall. Though this may sound somewhat underwhelming at first, when it comes to beating the keeper from the penalty spot, few are better than James Tavernier.
His penalty rating stands at 90, a number that includes a ton of players in the game, but among them, Tavernier is one of the very lucky few who has a signature penalty style. He has 77 shot power and 74 composure, which are good enough, especially since he also has the finesse shot and dead ball PlayStyles. He is a true specialist, and though he isa right back, players should definitely consider using him for penalties.

13Fabinho
Fabinho may not have taken many penalties for Liverpool during is spell at the club, with James Milner or Mohamed Salah preferred from the spot. But the Brazilian was deadly from the set-piece during his time at Monaco, referenced in his 90 penalty rating.
Despite CDM’s not really being known for being penalty takers, Fabinho is the exception to this and chances are he will put the ball into the back of the net when given the opportunity. His 81-shot power is also nothing to forget, but his 63 finishing may suggest that players would prefer a more well-rounded player to take their penalties, Fabinho is a very good option despite this low stat.

12Vincenzo Grifo
Non-rare cards are often overlooked in Ultimate Team, but if players use Vincenzo Grifo, they have a well-balanced card that excels in every attacking aspect of the game, other than pace. This includes penalties, which the Italian is exceptional in with a 90 rating.
Complete with an 85-shot power rating, Grifo can blast them in from the center circle and proves to be reliable when used in a game. If gamers were lucky enough to complete the Squad Building Challenge for the UEFA Europa League Team of the Group Stages item then they will have a Vincenzo Grifo card with a 95 penalty rating and more importantly, 91 pace, meaning he is so much more useable on Ultimate Team.

11Bruno Fernandes
A player known for his penalties to the point of even becoming a meme, Bruno Fernandes is also one of the best penalty-takers inEA Sports FC 24. Bruno’s penalty rating is also a 90, but it combines with his stunning 88-shot power and 82 composure. He also has a signature penalty style.
A very solid option when it comes to the highest stakes of an elimination game or as the teams' go-to penalty taker, Bruno Fernandes might not have Play Styles that benefit in this particular instance, buthis stats alone are more than enoughto make up for it.

10Andrej Kramaric
The Croatian is very versatile in the game. His base item is a CF, but he can play as a ST, CAM and even as a CM. What lets him down is the fact he has not received any special cards thus far in Ultimate Team.
What doesn’t let him down is that he is reliable from the penalty spot with an impressive 90 penalties. Wherever Kramaric is played, he should be the designated penalty taker as he can match it with his 82 shot power and 80 finishing helping him get that ball into the back of the net.

9Dzsenifer Marozsan
The German is an awesome card to use on Ultimate Team, amazing at dribbling and passing, but she can also take a mean penalty with a 90 rating and 88 shot power and 77 finishing to help get her over the line.OL are one of the best Women’s sidesin the game and when using them, Marozsan should be the one to take the penalties.
If players did complete the 93-rated Showdown SBC, they will be rewarded with a big boost in the stats of this player, including penalties going up to 93 and shot power to a powerful 97. Those penalties will break the net with this item.

8Mario Balotelli
91 Penalties
Mario Balotelli may not be one of the better strikers on Ultimate Team anymore. He is not a young man now at 33 and no longer playing in one of the big leagues of Europe. But what hasn’t declined for the Italian is his ability to take a penalty, still high at a 91 rating. Combining this with his 86-shot power is a match made in heaven.
Balotelli tops this with his 93-rated TOTS Moments item, which boosts his penalties to a perfect 99 rating. There is no way that the maverick forward will miss the spot on Ultimate Team. And it is fairly cheap as well, currently priced at just 67,000 coins on the market.

7Neymar Jr.
He just signed one of the biggest contracts in sports history in a somewhat surprising move to Saudi Arabia, but still has one of the highest ratings in the game. He is a penalty-taker, so good that rules had to be made to stop him from tricking goalkeepers. Neymar has a 91 penalty rating, and although he lacks shot power with just a 79, he makes up for it with 93 composure and an 88 curve.
His way of taking penalties relies on tricking the keeper and adjusting the shot as close as possible to the post. His unique signature penalty works really well for that purpose, especially against other players.

6Megan Rapinoe
Despite being in the later stage of her career, Megan Rapinoe remains at the top in this particular stat. A 91 penalty rating is not something to take lightly, especially when she also has a 91 composure,as calm and collected as players can get.
An also stunning 90 curve rating allows her to put the ball virtually anywhere and out of the keeper’s reach. A decent 84 shot power and the dead ball Play Style make her the second-best female player to take a penalty.
