Doom 64is coming with every digital copy ofDoom Eternalon the Switch for a limited time as a bonus. For those who pre-ordered the game, and for anyone who purchasesDoom Eternalby June 30, 2025, Bethesda is tossing in the iconic Nintendo 64 shooter.

Doom Eternalis considered a game of the year candidateby many, including this year’s The Game Awards 2020. Along withDoom 64copy, those how pre-order the game or buy it by December 22nd will also receive the Rip and Tear DLC pack, which includes the Doot Revenant Skin for multiplayer, the Throwback Shotgun Weapon Skin, and a remixed campaign level called Cultist Base Master Level.
In some ways, this bonusDoom 64game may help soften the blow for those who were hoping to get the newestDoomtitle physically. Recently it was revealed that thephysical version ofDoom Eternalon the Nintendo Switch had been canceled, which made some Nintendo fans unhappy, as there is still a large subset of fans who like to purchase only physically, if possible. After waiting almost nine months since the game released on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, however, it’s nice to simply finally have the game. The bonus wasn’t really expected, so it’s certainly exciting.
One thing to note about how Bethesda and iD Software are handling this release is the fact that the developer did receive alimited run physical edition ofDoom 64. ForDoom Eternal,however, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Even after 23 years,Doom 64is a compelling experience. For those who loved the game when it released back in 1997, jumping back into the world ofDoom 64is a wonderful nostalgia trip.
