TheDiablo 4community is quite happy with the game but has pointed out that a lack itemization is its biggest problem.Diablo 4has a massive collection of weapons and armor for every character class, but players usually end up getting more of the loot they don’t want, which gets frustrating in endgame activities.

Weapons and armor inDiablo 4are organized into Common, Magic, Rare, Legendary, Unique, Sacred, and Ancestral tiers. These item drops change based on the player’s World Tier, with Tier 4 dropping Ancestral and Unique items more often. For most of the endgame builds across classes, Unique items are the ones players grind for. However, there are only a total of 54 unique items across the5 character classes inDiablo 4, and even after hours of grinding higher tier activities, there is no guarantee for these items to drop as it is completely based on RNG. According to the community members, this lack of itemization is something Blizzard needs to address soon.

Reddit user zenlon pointed this out on theDiablo 4subreddit and said that while the game is quite good, the lack of rewarding item drops is holding it back from being great. They also mentioned that this one of the biggest reasons behind player fatigue as hours of playtime doesn’t feel rewarding. To resolve this, they suggested that “There should be 50-100+ Uniques/Aspects per class that (mostly) offer something. Not six or seven.” Adding to this, they also suggested that the items should have balanced stats and reasonable drop rates, so the grind doesn’t feel tedious. Lastly, they mentioned how level requirements should bebased on item levels inDiablo 4, and that these items should not scale to player levels, which would render them useless for alternate characters.

The community seemed to agree with the post, but also pointed out some other problems with the game. For instance, user Scottywin detailed howDiablo 4doesn’t have an option to filter items, which can get very frustrating. Another user mentioned how the higher level gear obtained from level progression doesn’t feel like an upgrade as those items don’t really fit in their builds.

Aside from these, players have also called out otherissues like the side quest cap inDiablo 4and the annoying repetitive messages in the game. These might not be as big as the itemization problem, but are still problesm the players Blizzard needs to address quickly. Hopefully, the developers will take notice of these problems and will fix them in the upcoming Season 1 ofDiablo 4.

Diablo 4is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
