Multiplayer-focused games may struggle to amass a sizable audience if they aren’t free-to-play, and that seems to be the case withDestroy All Humans: Clone Carnage, so one has to imagine that a low player count played a role in the decision to switch to a free-to-play model. Those on PC and Xbox can start playingDestroy All Humans: Clone Carnagefor free now, while those on PS4 have to pay $0.02. No reason has been given as to whyDestroy All Humans: Clone Carnagecosts $0.02 on PS4 but is free everywhere else, but it likely has something to do with Sony’s PlayStation Store rules.
While $0.02 seems like an inconsequential amount of money, it may still be enough to convince PS4 gamers not to bother with tryingDestroy All Humans: Clone Carnage, especially if they are upset about PC andXbox gamersgetting to play completely free of charge. Complaints have been aimed at the controls and that the game is “dead,” with players finding it difficult to get into multiplayer matches.
