Silver Leaves are, for all intents and purposes, the primary currency players will be grinding for inDestiny 2’sSolstice event. They’re rewarded for completing almost every activity in the game, and players will need copious amounts of these if they want to get those perfect-rolled armor pieces before the event ends.
Anyone who playsDestiny 2somewhat regularly will eventually reach the Silver Leaf cap in a couple of days. However, players who really want to make the most out of this event will want to use this one old trick from the community that’s been saving Guardians tons of time ever since the launch ofWitch Queen.

Updated Jul 01, 2025 by Marc Santos:The legitimate way of farming for Silver Leaves in Destiny 2 has remained the same throughout the years. Players can still exploit the first mission of the Lightfall expansion for quick and easy Silver Leaves when playing as a team, but in the Echoes episode post-Final Shape, some members of the community found an even faster exploit that players can do solo. This guide has been updated to include this exploit, though it’s likely that Bungie will patch it out in the near future.
Destiny 2: Fastest Way To Get Silver Leaves
The best Silver Leaf farm in the game is tucked awayin theDestiny 2Lightfallcampaign— specifically, The First Contact mission (which is also the campaign’s first mission) where players and Osiris stow themselves away on a Cabal cruiser. All players, including ones who haven’t bought the expansion, can access this mission by visiting Neptune on the Director map and clicking on the Campaign activity bubble on the left-hand side of the screen.
Grab a buddy or two and play through the campaign mission normally. After blasting through the Shadow Legion and beating the Tormentor near the end of the level, players will reach a bay area lined with drop pods. After opening the door leading to the pods, have someone leave the fireteam and switch to a different character. This will save a checkpoint on the first character that players can reuse for as long as they want.

Enter the pods, receive the Silver Leaves, quit back to the character select screen, and start back at the checkpoint using the anchor character. Repeat the process until the Silver Leaf cap is reached. Before doing this for the first time, the player with the checkpoint anchor should ensure that the checkpoint really did get saved. Additionally, everyone should be wearingat least one piece of Sunlit armorto earn Silver Leaves in any activity.
This trick has been around since the launch ofWitch Queenwhere players have been doing the same exploit in that expansion’s second campaign mission. Players can also earn Silver Leaves from there, butLightfall’sFirst Contact checkpoint exploit is significantly faster to do.

Unfortunately, this method does need more than one player in the fireteam. Solo players will either need to find a group that’s willing to do this, or simply play other activities. Public Events are easy and take no more than a few minutes to complete, but they only reward about 4 Silver Leaves each. Crucible matches also end fairly quickly, butDestiny 2’sPvP isn’t for everybody.
Destiny 2 Solo Silver Leaves Farm
During the 2024 Solstice event, members of theDestiny 2community discovered an exploit that let players farm Silver Leaves effortlessly within minutes. For this exploit, you’ll need to do the following:
As of writing, custom matches fall under the criteria for earning Silver Leaves, which means players can enter a match alone and still get their seasonal Solstice spoils. It’s very likely that this will get patched, however. When it does, then the solo player’s best bet at getting Silver Leaves is the Altars of Sorrow activity on the Moon.
