Deborah Ann Woll, who played journalist Karen Page in Netflix’sDaredevil, is interested in returning for Marvel Studios’Daredevil: Born Again.
With Daredevil slated to make his return in the upcomingDaredevil: Born Againon Disney Plus, fans are wondering who else will be brought back to play the characters that they portrayed from 2015 to 2018 besides Charlie Cox, who played the title role, and Vincent D’Onofrio, who played Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Four years after last playing herinDaredevilseason 3, Woll admitted that she would like to play Page again, believing that there is more to the character following the abrupt cancellation of the Netflix show in 2018.

While being interviewed onInside of You, Woll was asked what memorable role she would like to play again. After Michael Rosenbaum insinuated that she would like to play her role onTrue Bloodagain, Woll hinted that she would like to play Page instead. “I would say no because the Marvel series feel unfinished to me because we got canceled when we thought we were gonna have more,” Woll said. She added why she wanted to play Page again. “There is a part of me that was like I had more to say about Karen and I felt like I was in the middle of that story.”
Woll played Karen Page not just in theDaredevilNetflix series but also inThe PunisherandThe Defendersin 2017. In a way, she acted like a connector to that entire universe. As of now, there have been no confirmed plans for whether she would return forDaredevil: Born Againor any other MCU show in the future, but that could be because Marvel Studios is still ironing out the details after gaining access to the shows Netflix put out from 2015 to 2019. Given howexcited fans are to see Daredevilin the MCU, it would probably serve them well to bring her back and other characters like Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson.
In general, Disney seems to have some awareness of this since they are bringing back Cox to play the titular character and D’Onofrio to play his mortal enemy instead of replacing them because doing something like that would not sit well with the fans. However, all indications are that Disney will not go in the samedirection that Netflix went with Daredevilbecause the Netflix series is very dark compared to what the Marvel Cinematic Universe regularly puts out. So if going in another direction means they won’t bring back other characters, Woll may be out of luck regarding a possible return as Page.
It makes sense why Woll would want to play Page again because the show was canceled so abruptly to the point where it upset the fans. Page served as someone who wanted to find the whole truth, warts and all, no matter the consequences, because she believed that she was fighting for the right thing. Even while people she cared about died to expose those fueling corruption, she never compromised herself. It would have been interesting to see how far she could go with those beliefs or if she would question if her actions were doing more harm than good. WithDisney electing to bring back Daredevilfor the immediate future, bringing back Woll’s iteration of Karen Page would do very little harm.
