Summary
CD Projekt Redis one of the biggest development studios in gaming. The launch ofThe Witcher 3elevated the company to superstardom, with the two expansion packs that followed further enhancing the quality of the title. While there’s no denying thatCyberpunk 2077’sdisastrous launchwas one of the biggest fumbles in gaming history, the company has done a great job of updating the title and revamping its gameplay to make it relevant for the masses once again.
If there’s one thing CD Projekt Red is a master of, it’s crafting unique stories with high emotional stakes that never fail to immerse players.Given their focus on crafting amazing RPGs,it’s easy to see why the bulk of their games have multiple endings. Not all of these conclusions are happy, though. Sometimes, the heroes must go through an intenselysad endingthat can be difficult to deal with, especially if players have bonded with the characters and want them to succeed at all costs.

As is par for the course for CD Projekt Red, thePhantom Libertyexpansion dropped to rave reviews, with players loving the immense length of this new storyline and how it contributed to Night City’s detailed worldbuilding. The story of NUSA as they try to establish themselves as a dominant force and acquire the talents of a powerful netrunner named Songbird makes for a great time.
Dogtown is a fun district to explore, and Songbird’s story is something that players will resonate with. This character can meet many fates over the course of the story, with one ending path involving V ending her misery after the Blackwall infects her. It’s a morose ending to the life of a talented netrunner, someone who became a pawn for other important figures in Night City who treated her like a tool.

The Witcher 3’smain campaign was a great experience, and players couldn’t wait to see what the first expansion pack would bring to the table.Featuring a wealth of tough foes, new gameplay mechanics, and an amazing story,Hearts of Stonewas an incredible addition to Geralt’s adventures that introduced some of the game’s best characters.
While some people consider the ending where Olgierd’s soul is taken to be the bad ending, there are many who justify this act because of how heinous this immortal being was to his wife and the people around him. Still, seeing the Man of Glass hold Olgierd’s skull in his hand is a chilling sight that shows just how sinister Gaunter O’Dimm really is.

3The Witcher 3: Blood & Wine
Pretty Much Everyone Can Die By The End If Players Mess Up
IfHearts of Stoneimpressed players when it launched, thenBlood & Winetook things to a whole new level. The region of Beauclair is a blast to explore, featuring vibrant colors and full of a wealth of unique activities. The story is a tale for the ages, focusing on two siblings whose paths diverge in major ways.
With Syanna’s trauma causing her to be as vindictive as they come, her manipulative actions send her lover over the edge. The fight against Dettlaff is a treat for the ages, but players who fail to uncover the true nature of the mystery present in Beauclair will witness the worst ending in the game, where both Anna Henrietta and Syanna die after the latter assassinates her sister in cold blood, only to be cut down soon after.

2The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Ciri’s Death Is A Hard Pill To Swallow
The Witcher 3: Wild Huntis one of the greatest video games ever made, with players taking on the hunt for Ciri’s whereabouts afterGeralt regains his memories at the end of the second game. Following a wild chain of events, Geralt finally reunites with Ciri, kickstarting the third and final phase of the story. Players must be mindful of how they interact with Ciri here, since their actions govern the ending that they receive after this enthralling adventure concludes.
Failing to be a good parent to Ciri and helping her feel like she’s capable leads to the worst ending in the game, with the child of the Elder Blood failing to stop the White Frost and dying in the process. This leads to a depressing moment where players finish off the only surviving crone and retrieve Ciri’s medallion, with Geralt looking visibly miserable as the monsters of the swamp close in on his location.

1Cyberpunk 2077
V’s Fate Ranges From Bittersweet To Depressing
Cyberpunk 2077isa game that needs no introduction, with V’s journey to take control of their own body after a heist gone wrong being one of the few bright spots at launch. Unlike most of CD Projekt Red’s other games that always have an outright good ending, or something along those same lines, the conclusions ofCyberpunk 2077will either come with a sense of melancholy or just resign V to a horrible fate no matter what players do.
Even the new ending inPhantom Libertydoesn’t shy away from a morose ending, despite V actually gaining control of his body in this version of events. It’s a testament to the savageness of Night City and how people can lose themselves — both figuratively and literally — in a bid to become a legend at all costs.
