Street Fighter 5may be at theend of its lifecycle, but that does not mean Capcom is going to stop caring about the game. Capcom has been working hard to add new features and content to the game with the release of the latestChampion Editionupgrade kit, which adds a new character along with a bunch of different cosmetic items. In addition to the new stuff,Street Fighter 5: Champion Editionalso unlocks all the previously released characters, costumes, and stages for players.
Four years after its release, the game is finally at a point where thecharacter selection screencan rival previous iterations of the franchise. However, Capcom does not seem to be slowing down when it comes to adding new features. Yesterday, Capcom released a new Benchmarking tool forStreet Fighter 5on PC. This is a standalone tool that helps players find the best settings for their setup in order to runStreet Fighter 5as smoothly as possible.

Street Fighter 4had a similar benchmarking tool built into the game which made it easier for players to test their setups from within the game, but this time, Capcom has released a standalone tool that players will have to download individually. TheStreet Fighter 5benchmarking tool is around 1.7 GB in size and runs a demo match that tests the machine to find out the optimal settings. A “Perfect” score means that the game will run without any issues both offline and online; however, theonline portion dependsmore on the users’ networking setup.
Street Fighter 5’s netcode has not been up to player’s expectations, but Capcom recently madesome changes to the multiplayer netcodewhich improved the online play to some extent. However, fans are still not satisfied with the netcode changes, and some have been reporting even worse performance than before. It’s unclear whether Capcom will make any further changes to online multiplayer, but there’s always hope.
