WithCall of Duty: Warzoneset to be a “constant” for theCall of Dutyfranchise moving forward, it seems likely that Activision will eventually have to add new maps to the game to keep things fresh. Rumors have been swirling for quite some time that the upcomingCall of Duty 2020will be adding anewWarzonemapfor battle royale fans to check out, and now a recent leak has given fans a better idea of what to expect from it.
Dataminers have been busy digging through theCall of Duty 2020Red Door alpha leakthat recently appeared on the Microsoft Store, discovering a slew of information about the upcoming game in the process. This includes four “zones” that will supposedly be coming toCall of Duty: Warzone, likely as part of a new battle royale map. Like many other things in The Red Door files, it’s likely that these are placeholder names, but it still paints a picture of what the new map will be like.

Duga is a large radar system, whereas Forest, Russia, and Ski Slopes are self-explanatory. It seems unlikely that “Russia” will be a singular zone on the map, but perhaps it could be the name of the new map itself. Previous rumors indicated that the newWarzonemap would indeed be based onRussia, so that matches with what’s been leaked before. Ski Slopes indicates that there will likely be a snowy mountain on the new map as well.
Overall, it sounds like the newCall of Duty: Warzonemap won’t be too unlike theVerdansk mapthat’s already in the game, with a mix of forests, mountains, and buildings for players to explore. Of course, it’s possible that plans will change andWarzonewon’t end up getting a new map at all or the new map that actually ends up in the game will be something completely different than what’s indicated by the datamined files.
Whatever the case may be, hopefully fans get some more information sooner rather than later. Rumors indicate that theCall of Duty 2020revealwill actually happen within theWarzonebattle royale itself, so maybe it will be accompanied by the new map reveal.
