Call of Duty: Warzoneis one of the top battle royale games in the world right now, with an online population that continues to grow exponentially. And it seems as though Infinity Ward is putting in the work to keep its large player base engaged with the game for a long-term basis, as a new datamine reveals more team size options and other modes are on the way forCall of Duty: Warzone.
Dataminers have discovered in-game menus for players to choosenew team size options inCall of Duty: Warzone. More specifically, they have found the option to play in Duos and Squads in the game.Call of Duty: Warzonedataminers have also leaked the ability to play private matches in the game with custom rules, though it’s unclear exactly how that would work. One has to imagine that players would be able to fill out their matches with bots, though that has yet to be confirmed.

As far as team size options go, it makes sense forCall of Duty: Warzoneto be adding Duos and Squads. However, what’s less clear is when these team size options will be added to the game. Infinity Ward was quick to add asolo mode toCall of Duty: Warzone, adding it in an update just a week after the game’s release, so it’s possible Duos and Squads will come with next week’s expected update. Alternatively, fans may have to wait a little bit longer for the additional team size options.
When Duos is added toCall of Duty: Warzone, it will likely consist of 75 teams of two players. However,Warzone’s player count of 150is not evenly divisible by four. It’s possible that squads inWarzonewill consist of five players, or it’s possible Infinity Ward will change the player count number so that it is divisible by four. For example, it could raise theWarzoneplayer count to 160 players, or it could lower it to 140.
Infinity Ward has already said that it’s been experimenting with4- and 5-playerWarzonesquads, so either option is possible. We won’t know for sure how Infinity Ward will implementWarzoneSquads until Infinity Ward decides to share more information, however.
Assuming Infinity Ward sticks to its weekly update schedule that it’s established withCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, anewWarzoneupdateshould be coming on Tuesday, so it’s possible fans just have a few more days to wait for new team size options in the game.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
